Shuttle 8 is a Rail Replacement Service for the East West Line (EWL), plying between Bedok – Expo.
The route will be activated to operate in November & December 2025, as EWL train services are suspended for 10 days between Tampines – Bedok & Tanah Merah – Expo for a series of works to facilitate the integration of the EWL to the new East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID), as well as to operationalise the new train platform at Tanah Merah.

- 2018 (04 Jan): Drop off point at Tanah Merah amended to Pick Up & Drop Off Point before BS 85099 from Bus Stop 85099 Tanah Merah Stn Exit A
- 2018 (05 Jan): Launched as a Shuttle Bus Service between Tanah Merah and Changi Airport, operating during periods of MRT closure
- 2018 (19 Jan): Extended to operate on 2, 3 & 4 February due to additional days of shortened operating hours on the East West Line
- 2018 (02 Mar): Start of operations for March 2018 MRT Early Closure, Late Opening with revised operating details. Operated by Private Buses
- 2018 (22 Mar): Extended operating days to Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays in April 2018. Frequency reduced to 4 – 10 mins from 3 – 5 mins

Tanah Merah to Expo leh? Must expect the general public who don’t know a thing about buses to either take the long way transfer via DTL3, or take buses 12 / 24 / 35 / 38 / 47 and then brave the unsheltered path all the way to the atrium? Or even direct them to Simei to board bus 20? Ridiculous oversight.
If shuttle 8 goes from changi airport to expo how will passenger go tanah merah to change to shuttle 7.do they need to take the downtown line to tampines or what.
