Bedok South ITH Site Tender launched; Upper East Coast Ter to be demolished

On 30 March 2026, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) launched a tender for a land parcel along Bayshore Drive, where the upcoming Bedok South Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) will be developed.

First proposed in the URA’s 2019 Draft Master Plan, the project will form part of a mixed-use development integrated with the Thomson-East Coast Line Bedok South MRT Station, alongside retail spaces and new residential housing.

According to the site Technical Conditions of Tender published by URA, the bus interchange will feature a direct connection to the MRT station. Plans also indicate two vehicular access points: a primary junction linking to Bayshore Drive, and a contingency left-in-left-out access via Bayshore Avenue.

Tender documents also confirm that the Upper East Coast Bus Terminal will be demolished, with works to be undertaken by the successful land parcel tenderer. Opened in December 2001, the terminal currently serves eight bus routes in the Upper East Coast area.

Its removal will make way for the construction of Bayshore Drive, a new three-lane dual-carriageway road linking to Upper East Coast Road and Kew Drive via a four-way junction. Part of the existing terminal sits within the planned carriageway, necessitating its clearance.

      The current bus terminal will be demolished , no idea this empty place will be used to do what? I stay at Kew Green , the new mixed development will block us the sea view and wind.

        you just described the problem faced by West Coast Court residents since Casa Clementi was built. the wind got blocked, now our estate is stuffy as hell.

      I totally agree that Upper East Coast Bus Terminal is going to be demolished and the bus services there are going to shift to the new Bedok South Intergrated Transport Hub in future. From the map provided, I believe the new Bedok South ITH is going to be situated on the empty grass field just beside the Upper East Coast Bus Terminal.

    Really disappointing that the ITH is at Bedok South instead of Sungei Bedok, where it could serve both the DTL and TEL. Ofc they could’ve just extended DTL one stop more too I guess but whatever what’s done is done. Just means 10/14/TEL will have to pick up the slack for crowds heading eastwards.

    Most probably 42 and 135 also will terminate here with possibly 229.Bedok is quite huge and they can’t depend on Bedok ITH alone. Well maybe if got land space LTA might consider to built a new bus depot for Bedok North too.

    A quick measurement of the area of this new ITH…shocked that Bedok Sth ITH is BIGGER than even Yishun ITH and a majority of other ITH too
    What are they putting in here that necessitates this ITH to take up such a huge plot

      The size of the plot is of little consequence; what truly matters is the size of the bus interchange. In this instance, the interchange appears to be of average scale.

      A larger plot would merely result in a greater number of commercial and residential units within the Integrated Transport Hub development, compared with others of its kind.

        Sorry I meant the area of the interchange itself, which totals to about 6000sqm
