Reduced Operations of Bukit Panjang LRT during Off-Peak Periods from 1 Dec 2019

Train services along the Bukit Panjang LRT (BPLRT) will be reduced from Sunday, 1 December 2019 as part of the Bukit Panjang LRT Overhaul.

These measures come after Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan’s visit to Sengkang Depot on 30 August 2019, where he revealed that SMRT is studying the suspension of the Bukit Panjang LRT Line during off-peak periods and replacing the service with buses.


BPLRT – Service B only during Off Peak Hours

From Sunday, 1 December 2019, Service A (via Senja) will be suspended during off-peak hours as follows:

  • Weekdays: 9.00am – 5.00pm & 8.00pm – 11.30pm
  • Saturdays: 5.00am – 11.30pm
  • Sundays & Public Holidays: 5.20am – 11.30pm

Service B (via Petir) will continue to operate throughout the day. Service A (via Senja) will operate only during weekday peak hours.

The revised service pattern is in addition to the daily early closure of the Bukit Panjang LRT line at 11.30pm effective January 2019.


The First Train & Last Train timings by Platforms for all Bukit Panjang LRT Stations effective 1 December 2019 will be updated when SMRT Trains releases these timings.

Bus Service Changes

In addition to the above changes for the Bukit Panjang LRT network, new SMRT Bus Service 976 plying between Bukit Panjang and Choa Chu Kang will be launched on 10 November 2019, while Bus Parallel Service BPS1 would be withdrawn on the same day.

    I prefer they demolish the LRT..Instead built at Taman Jurong to Boon Lay…And one for the eastern side.
