Bus ETA Timings Disrupted Again on 18 April

On the afternoon of Saturday 18 April 2026, bus arrival timings were observed to be disrupted, with large estimated arrival times (ETA) gaps between buses.

Earlier in the morning, the bus arrival API on the LTA Datamall was intermittently unavailable due to planned maintenance from 00:00 to 08:00.

Bus Arrival Time Predictions were earlier reported by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to be restored to above 90% back on 7 February 2026, following restoration works.

Response & Root Cause

In response to the ongoing disruption, LTA posted on social media in the afternoon that it was investigating the matter.

Later in the evening on 18 April 2026, LTA posted an update on the root cause of the disruption, attributed to damaged fibre service cables at about 10:40hrs that day, during contiguous bored pile works for the North–South Corridor project. As such, disruptions to some telco services were reported (such as Singtel). The bus arrival ETA system, which relies on the affected cables, was also impacted.

Fibre infrastructure owner NetLink Trust also posted several updates on its website regarding the disruption (caused by damage to fibre infrastructure during third-party construction works), with full services expected to be restored by the next morning (19 Apr 2026).

Resumption

The bus arrival ETA system was fully restored on the morning of 19 April 2026, as posted by LTA in a social media update.
