SBS Transit Bus Service 138B was a Short-Trip Service variant of Bus Service 138.

The route operated from Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange and ended at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 (Opp Blk 604), operating only during the weekday evening peak hours.

Service 138B was discontinued after 14 March 2025, with the last day of service on Friday 14 March 2025.

Short Trip Service 138B was a trunk service operating from Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange and ended at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 (Opp Blk 604).

As a Short-Trip Service, the route operated on weekdays during evening peak hours. It mainly supplemented the high demand for Service 138 from Ang Mo Kio MRT/Int to residential estates around Ang Mo Kio.

The route was first introduced on 22 June 2009 as Service 138A, which operated an identical route (Ang Mo Kio Int →  Ang Mo Kio Ave 5 (Opp Blk 604)) during weekday evening peak hours. This short-lived Shortworking trip was retired before the end of 2009, and the service number was re-used in 2012 as Service 138A (Ang Mo Kio Int → Mandai Lake Rd (Singapore Zoo)).

Service 138B was introduced on 19 October 2015, following the same route as Service 138A in 2009 and operating during weekday evening peak hours. This Short Trip Service was not included in the second tendered term for the Seletar Bus Package, which commenced on 16 March 2025. As a result, it was discontinued, with its last day of operation on 14 March 2025.
