Service 155 serves as a residential route between Toa Payoh, MacPherson Estate, Geylang East, Telok Kurau and East Coast. It is also the only service to make a complete loop within MacPherson Estate and emerge on Aljunied Road in both directions.
Red and white plates are used to help commuters boarding from Merpati Road, Circuit Road, Pipit Road and Mattar Road, as buses in both directions (towards Bedok and towards Toa Payoh) call at the same bus stops. Apart from the destination display of the bus before boarding, commuters can check the service plate colour displayed on the windscreen. Red Plate buses head towards Bedok while White Plate buses head towards Toa Payoh.
As an inter-town service providing unique connections, demand is moderate to low throughout the day, with increased demand during the peak hours.
Formerly looping at Siglap Road from Toa Payoh, Service 155 was extended to Bedok in April 2017

Hi, I like to send my great thanks and appreciation to your bus captain of Service 155’s help (sorry that I did not get his name). He was then driving bus nbr SBS 8801D on 13 Jul 2020 (Mon) at about 9.30am when it arrived at bus stop no. 90369. While I was about to board it, the bus captain disallowed me as I was not on a mask. Only then, I realized that I did not have a mask on me as I was rushing out to catch the bus. I acknowledged by thanking him for the reminder. As I was about to return to pick up a mask, the bus captain horned at me to get me back on the bus. He then pulled out his bag where he retrieved a clean mask out of a stack of them to give it to me. I felt so grateful for his help and generosity in sparing a clean mask to me. If he had not gone the extra mile to assist me, I would be late for my medical check up, which the trip took me about an hour plus to reach the destination. Moreover, intervals between service 155 from one to another may takes up an average of >20 minutes for the next to come. Please convey my heartfelt thanks to him and a helpful employee that SBS has, Kudos!!!
