This bus service 190 is needed to be amendment to Eng Neo Ave. These 21 calling stops are:

3. Orchid Apartments
4. Aft Jin Naga Sari
5. Natl JC
6. Opp Tan Kah Kee Stn
7. Opp Coronation Plaza
8. Opp Botanic Gdns
9. Aft Kheam Hock Rd
10. Aft Dunkirk Ave
11. Bef Lewis Rd
12. NUS Bt Timah Campus
13. Botanic Gdns Stn
14. Bef Crown Ctr
15. Coronation Plaza
16. Tah Kah Kee Stn
17. Chinese High Sch
18. Opp Natl JC
19. Opp Orchid Apartments
20. Bef Farmway Dr
21. Bef PIE
And so on, I think this bus will be the first bus service to amendment to Eng Neo Ave.
frankly speaking, the reason they do NOT amend buses onto eng neo road is because the sheer length needed for any bus to rejoin Bt. Timah/Dunearn Rd would already make it pointless. Furthermore, the road is narrowish so buses also must exercise more caution travelling down that stretch.
Plus, it would be extremely unwise to amend the express section of 190 because…
1. you’re depriving teck whye residents of their direct link to the city. (without it they would have to hub and spoke to NSL then EWL towards City, OR to Bt Panjang then DTL /960), and
2. Such amendments exacerbate capacity issues elsewhere (namely NSL, EWL and DTL) as 190 commuters who used to rely on the bpj-stevens express section (in general) now have to seek alternatives in places where other people are desperately trying to get comfortable standing space or a seat for their commute. For DTL is already crowded as hell with how short the train is especially during evening peak.
3. And (continuing from pt. 2) as for NSL you have a whole train load of ppl from woodlands yew tee and cck (specifically extg. commuters who hub and spoke into CCK int and nearby NSL stations) trying to squeeze onto an EWL train that already has ppl from boon lay/jurong area. If the teck whye people get dispersed to NSL/EWL, and the cck people who relied on 190 now have to rely on feeders/985/188/etc. and NSL/EWL where concerned then good luck to commuters because every train can only hold so many ppl at one go.
tl:dr, Routing is inefficient. Westies do rely on 190 express section from BPJ to stevens (I mean there’s a reason there’s so many double deck buses on 190), so please don’t anyhow amend it. Those who REALLY want to go tan kah kee/ botanic gardens area can just take the DTL or buses already serving the area.
I would like to draw your attention to the long delay of bus 190 on 25 April 2026.
Service 133 was supposed to depart at 1643 hours as reflected on the information screen but it arrived at around 1715 hours.
May I know why is the information not updated when it is supposed to be real time? Everyone in the queue was made to waste about 30 minutes of their time for nothing. Most importantly I was late for my appointment! You could at the very least make a short announcement to inform passengers of the delay, and update the information screen so that we can have the option to choose an alternative travel mode/route.
I think this is very unacceptable, coming from SMRT. You do not keep customers waiting for nothing when there are ways to communicate the delay!
