Bus Service 453 provides a faster connection for commuters travelling between housing estates in Tengah and Bukit Batok MRT Station. This limited-stop service, which operates only during weekday morning and evening peak hours in one direction, is a quicker alternative to Bus Service 992.

The service plies non-stop between Plantation Cres and Bukit Batok Int in both directions, via Tengah Link, Bukit Batok Rd, Bukit Batok West Ave 6 and Bukit Batok West Ave 3. One additional stop is served along Bukit Batok Rd (Opp Blk 443D) on its forward journey towards Bukit Batok Int.

If the eves of Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Chinese New Year fall on a weekday, the Evening Peak departures may be brought forward to the afternoon. Revised departure times will be provided by the operator closer to the affected date.

Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme

This service is introduced under the LTA’s Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP), a ~$900 million government scheme that funds the purchase of new buses, infrastructural improvements, and operating costs of new bus services between 2024–2032.

The key commuter benefit of this service mentioned by the Land Transport Authority is that it provides faster journey time for Tengah to and from Bukit Batok MRT Station.
