Short Trip Service 883A was a trunk service that operated from Sembawang Bus Interchange to Canberra Way (Blk 129A).

The Short-Trip Service offered unidirectional trips from Sembawang and terminating at Canberra Way during the late-night hours (after the last bus of Bus Service 883 has departed), without having to operate full-distance trips of Service 883. It served estates around Sembawang and Canberra.

Service 883A operated only on eve of Public Holidays and other special days when bus and train services are extended. Buses depart at 20-minute frequencies, offering connections from Sembawang MRT Station until the last train. The exact last bus hours are announced by SMRT Buses closer to these dates.

During Early Closures on the NSL affecting Sembawang, Bus Service 883A was also activated, as the last buses for residential bus services were extended to allow commuters to connect from the Shuttle Bus Services.

Bus Service 883A last operated on the night of 31 Dec 2020. Thereafter, the service did not operate until its withdrawal on 3 Oct 2021. During this time, route information for Service 883A remained at the berth of Sembawang Bus Interchange implying its existence, until 3 Oct 2021 when it was removed following the handover to Tower Transit.
