Service 185 is an inter-town bus route connecting Pioneer and Jurong West with Clementi and Holland. It is particularly popular for travel between Jurong East/West Avenue 1 and Clementi, due to its express sector along the PIE, which takes about 8 minutes to reach Clementi Avenue 6.
Spanning 18 km, the route is moderately long for a trunk service. In Jurong West, it serves Wenya estate and Jurong West Ave 5, enhancing inter-estate connectivity and complementing the local feeder bus network. Eastbound, the route runs express along the PIE, providing a fast connection between Jurong West and Clementi. Upon reaching Clementi, it travels along Commonwealth Avenue West, parallel to the MRT tracks, before terminating at Buona Vista Terminal.
Service 185 covers many of the same key areas as Service 99, connecting Clementi with Jurong East/West Avenue 1 and Jurong West. However, its frequency during off-peak hours is relatively low, with buses arriving every 15-20 minutes.

I seriously hate the frequency for thus bus service. Peak hour 24 mins?! And the bus schedule says every 14 mins but the bus did not come and I had to wait for the next one. And it’s always a single decker some more!
Very lousy sbs transit! I hope when smrt takes over, the service becomes better. You guys are incapable to run this service!
Just like the Jurong Industrial Services, 185 is essentially a school bus, which can have its operating hours limited to just morning (0630 to 0730), afternoon (1330 to 1430) and evening (1730 to 1830), on weekdays. That is, if they want to limit the operating periods.
*NONSENSE REMARK*
This bus service was the bus I took to school in primary 6 (2008), secondary school days (2009 to 2013), and Polytechnic days (2014 to 2017). The users are mainly students whose school and house are within walking distance to a 185 bus stop. Bus 185 provides a direct connection, without having to transfer at Boon Lay Bus Interchange or at an intersecting bus stop elsewhere. Of course, during weekends and school holidays, it reliefs the loading off bus 99 for intratown connection in Jurong West.
This bus service was introduced in December 2006. It has been 13 full years since this bus service was introduced, and 185 has served 13 batches of students across primary school, secondary school and tertiary (if they study at Singapore Polytechnic), which is around 3 cycles of secondary school population, and counting.
Highly recommend? LOL.

Otherwise, bus service 185, with its passengers mainly students, and students pay concession fares, is actually a loss making route, even though the ridership is high.
Nonetheless, bus 99 and 502 are subsiding this route. So it’s okay. 🙂
Stupid remarks. Nonsonse
