Pontian Bus Terminal is a bus terminal located in the town of Pontian Kechil, Malaysia, west of Johor Bahru. The bus terminal serves both local Johor Bahru bus routes and intercity bus routes.

Background:

The Pontian District is a fishing village and coastal settlement located over 50 kilometers west of Johor Bahru, formally comprising two towns, Pontian Besar and Pontian Kechil which have largely been merged with developments. The town is connected to Johor Bahru mainly via Federal Route 5 (Skudai–Pontian Highway), which all bus services use between Pontian and various parts of Johor Bahru.

Located in Pontian Kechil is Pontian Bus Terminal, the district’s main bus terminal catering to Johor Bahru local bus routes and inter-town bus routes. It is accessed from Jalan Delima 2.

The Terminal:

Formerly located along Jalan Pantai, the current Pontian Bus Terminal is located along Jalan Delima 2 with relatively new facilities, featuring 18 end-on berths. The terminal building is two storeys tall, with bus ticketing booths and retail outlets occupying the ground floor. The upper floor houses a canteen with multiple food stalls.

Bus Services:

The terminal serves local bus services to parts of Johor Bahru such as Gelang Patah and Larkin, Other local bus services connect to the neighbouring towns of Kukup, Ayer Baloi and Benut. Finally, intercity coaches head far north to Batu Pahat, Muar and Kuala Lumpur.
