The Terminal:
Larkin Bus Terminal is the largest bus terminal in Johor Bahru, and the main terminating point for intercity coaches connecting Johor Bahru to the rest of Malaysia. Smaller numbers of local bus routes and cross-border routes also operate out of the terminal. The terminal building covers two floors, and contains ticketing counters, air-conditioned waiting areas, bus operator offices, a wet market, fast food outlets, money changers and many other sundry shops.
Getting to Larkin is relatively easy given the many bus connections it offers. From JB Sentral, regular services operate from JB CIQ (170, CW1, CW2) and JB Sentral Bus Terminal (several routes) A free local bus service, P101, plies between JB Sentral and Larkin (for Bus Muafakat Johor cardholders only).
Local Bus Services & Cross-Border Services to Singapore
For local bus services within Johor Bahru and Cross-Border local buses to Singapore, proceed to Gate 1-2 waiting area. Waiting areas are air-conditioned with seats and a departure timing screen.
Intercity coach ticketing
A Centralized Ticketing System (CTS) is in place for intercity coach tickets at Larkin since 15 December 2017. There are now several methods of purchasing express bus tickets:
- Purchase at self-service ticket kiosk
- Purchase at ticket counters number 1 – 8
- Purchase online or at the operators counter manually
For passengers opting for the third option; i.e. buying online tickets on online websites (e.g. redbus.my, easybook.com, catchthatbus.com) or at operators’ counters, one must proceed to counter number 9 – 14 for exchange of boarding pass, which grants entry into the departure hall.
An extra RM2 facilities fee is collected by Larkin Bus Terminal since 1 January 2022.
Cross Border Bus services
All cross-border services depart from Gates 1-2. An extra RM1 facilities fee is charged from 15 February 2023.
