Introduction
East Coast Bus Depot is an upcoming multi-storey bus depot. Currently under construction, the depot is part of East Coast Integrated Depot, an integrated rail and bus depot in the Sungei Bedok region which also serves the East-West Line, Downtown Line and Thomson-East Coast Line. The rail and bus depots are co-located to optimise land use and streamline construction processes.
The depot is intended to accommodate additional buses that are being introduced over the years, as the overall bus capacity increases under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) and Bus Contracting Model (BCM). The multi-story depot is designed for handling over 500 buses and will be equipped with a Bus Operations Control Centre, parking spaces, refuelling and washing facilities, repair and maintenance facilities, and administrative offices to support day-to-day bus operations. Maintenance workshops, refuelling and washing facilities are located on the ground level and parking spaces for buses are located on the second and third levels.
When completed, East Coast Bus Depot will join other multi-storey bus depots in Singapore such as Tengah Bus Depot, Sengkang West Bus Depot, Woodlands Bus Depot, and Soon Lee Bus Depot.
The bus depot capacity was initially listed as 760 buses in an LTA factsheet published in November 2018, later revised to 740 buses in the LTA Annual Report 2018/19. It was later revised to 760 buses in another LTA factsheet published in September 2022. A finalised figure of over 500 buses was announced in November 2024, accounting for a design update to make room for electric bus infrastructure, including the capacity to charge about 240 electric buses as well as fire safety systems.
Charging Infrastructure
As part of the tender for Electric Vehicles Charging System (EVCS) for Electric Buses (Reference no.: BD401), East Coast Bus Depot is one of the bus depots that will be outfitted with Electric Bus Chargers, which will support the 360 three-door electric single deck buses procured by LTA in November 2023.
For East Coast Bus Depot, Busways Pte Ltd/Shell Singapore Pte Ltd Consortium will be installing these EV chargers, which will have capacities of up to 360kW.

Bedok contract is extended till 2026 and in tandem with the depot opening.
Look like ready anytime can start operation.
I really hope Bedok package will use this depot.LTA should just include svc 36 & 47 into this package and to be accurate,East Coast cover Bedok areas especially the Southern part and Central.
I felt East Coast Bus Depot will be under Tampines Bus Package while Bedok bus package will remain at Bedok North Depot since sv38 using Linker bus & it was under Tampines bus package
