Interchange Layout
Buangkok Bus Interchange contains 19 end-on parking lots arranged into 7 end-on berths.
The ITH is also the first to be designed only with end-on berths, as opposed to the more common sawtooth berth design. Toa Payoh and Boon Lay are the only other ITHs employing a mix of end-on and sawtooth berths, while HarbourFront and Saint Michael’s are the only other bus interchanges/terminals designed with exclusive use of end-on berths.
Vehicles enter/exit the interchange via a signalised T-junction with Sengkang Central. For emergencies, a backup vehicle access gate leads to the loading/unloading bay of Sengkang Grand Mall, which is accessed via Compassvale Bow.

Brief History
Plans for the interchange were first mooted as part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s 2013 Draft Masterplan. Located in the heart of the Buangkok neighbourhood and adjacent to Buangkok MRT Station, the interchange would be integrated within a mixed-use development envisioned as an integrated community and transport hub to meet the needs of some 20,000 residents in Buangkok.
The proposed mixed-use development would integrate a bus interchange, a hawker centre (Buangkok Hawker Centre) and a 3-storey community club (Buangkok Community Club), alongside a childcare centre and retail spaces. A tender for the development of the land parcel was launched on 28 December 2017 and was awarded to Siena Residential Development Pte. Ltd. and Siena Trustee Pte. Ltd. (as Trustee-Manager of Siena Commercial Trust) at a tender price of S$777.78 million on 16 August 2018. A condominium development (Sengkang Grand Residences) would be built atop the retail/community/bus interchange components, comprising 680 residential units across 9 blocks.
Sengkang Grand Mall opened in March 2023, with the other amenities and residential apartments gradually opening thereafter.

Hello it is alr q4 2023 now and its not opened yet !
Q4 2023 moment lmao
Hi, just to share my experience with Boon Lay ITH (2009) and Joo Koon ITH (2015).
From the time the construction materials are removed, to the opening of the bus interchange, takes around 6 to 12 months.
Considering the construction materials are still at the Buangkok ITH, I would say, Q3 2024 opening is more likely.
LMAO CapitaLand says it is expected to be completed in Q3 2023, and passing by the area works are almost done with works starting to remove the centre island where buses are expected to turn out to Baungkok stn exit B bus stop.
Then we have you the joker who say no Q3 2024. So you mean you know better than a big organisation, that is building the interchange, spreading fake news on their website?
Please do your research before commenting rubbish.
Tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if the opening gets delayed for one reason or another, prlly not by an entire year but like — Q3 is ending in one month and LTA still hasn’t said anything about this interchange, would have expected them to make some kind of poster or something about it by now. Then again they could be waiting until like the week before to announce this.
Aged liked milk lmfao
Do research? Very funny leh, already 2024 and still not open. At ur comment time have u seen the interchange? Construction material not removed yet ofc ppl say wont open lah.
When will Buangkok ITH open?
It is likely to open next month (Sep 2023), just in line with the mall’s website Q3 2023, which is ending on Sep 30. The works are almost completed given they have just started the opening of the center divider.
But I wont expect any new services for the time being apart from 110 and 114. There are strong indications and rumours that 110 is expected to start from baungkok. No new services as Hougang depot is way overcrowded with over 700 buses, way out of it’s designed capacity, until sengkang west depot opens up.
I personally think that the following may happen:
Service 110: I think it would be beneficial for residents staying around Anchorvale to have a direct service to Buangkok MRT and also other amenities found there. The missing sector to Compassvale Int is still covered by 372.
Service 114/114A: Quite Clear cut, at least drivers don’t have to layover at Compassvale Int anymore or the parking lots near the Buangkok Stn Bus Stop
Service 156: I chose 156 to be shortened here because based on personal experience, 156 is very under utilised at Sengkang Int. Maybe it could be amended via Compassvale Bow or Sengkang East Ave. The lost sector is already covered by 159, 159A and 161.
These are just my own personal opinions and predictions. I may be wrong but for now, these seem to be logical.
Logic..110,114,156 & probably 115 extend here to loop at St 21 instead. Most probably 2 new feeder service.
Some people use 156 from Sengkang->buangkok green, not all bkok green stops are served by 159 n 161
