Bus Service 10 is a key trunk route connecting Singapore’s eastern and western regions via the Central Business District (CBD). It links residential estates and suburbs such as Tampines, Simpang Bedok, Upper East Coast, East Coast, Tanjong Katong, Old Airport, and Pasir Panjang to major city areas including HarbourFront, Shenton Way, and Nicoll Highway. Despite changes to its route over the years, much of its original alignment, established in the 1970s, remains intact.
One of Service 10’s core catchments is East Coast, being one of only two bus routes (alongside Service 14) to serve the entire stretch of East Coast Road and Upper East Coast Road. With limited rail connectivity along this corridor and minimal overlap with the Thomson-East Coast Line catchment areas around Marine Parade, Service 10 remains vital for commuters travelling to and from the East Coast. Additionally, it is the only direct connection between East Coast, Simpang Bedok, and Tampines.
In the western segment, Service 10 links the CBD to HarbourFront and Pasir Panjang, terminating at Kent Ridge Terminal. While the HarbourFront–Kent Ridge sector parallels the Circle Line and several other bus routes, only Service 10 offers a direct connection from the CBD to Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge without requiring transfers.
Demand Patterns
Service 10 operates with a fleet of single- and double-deck buses, with double-deck buses comprising roughly two-thirds of the fleet.
During weekday peak hours, Service 10 sees high demand from residents of East Coast and Old Airport commuting to the CBD. An express variant, Bus Service 10e, operates during weekday mornings and evenings, providing additional capacity and faster journeys between the East Coast and the CBD by skipping Tanjong Katong and Old Airport. During morning peak hours, special departures are also added from Upp East Coast Rd (Siglap Sth CC) towards Kent Ridge.
Off-peak demand is moderate, shared with other overlapping bus services along key parts of the route. On weekends, service frequencies are typically poor as buses are preferentially added to Bus Service 14, which connects East Coast to the Orchard shopping district.

Bus 10 might be amended following CCL stage 6. Already served by CCL in the central area. Maybe loop at North Canal Rd from Kent Ridge Terminal. 10e will be withdrawn. 10 may serve full single-deck fleet.
For TEL4 rationalisation Service 10 may be in danger since its prioritised demand area is the East Coast. The most in danger is 10e as well. I think if want to retain the link to Tampines, just allow 10 to travel along ECP via Still Rd South, then travel on Xilin Ave.
I agree. From tampines to suntec there is 518 and take downtown mrt line. From tampines to the financial district can take 513, downtown mrt line, east west mrt line.
