SBS Transit Bus Service 14 is a trunk service plying between Bedok and Clementi, passing through Bedok North, East Coast, Mountbatten, Orchard, Jalan Bukit Merah and Dover. Along with Service 7 and 196, it is one of three services plying between Bedok and Clementi, but uses the longest route.

Spanning East to West, Service 14 is a long trunk route serving important connections along many portions of its route. From Bedok, the route first heads eastbound towards Tanah Merah, then turning into Bedok Road, serving East Coast, Mountbatten and Nicoll Highway before reaching the Orchard Road district. It then continues westbound through River Valley, Jalan Bukit Merah, Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) and Buona Vista before reaching Clementi. At over 30km without express sectors, the route takes at least two hours of travelling in either direction.
On the Eastern side, Service 14 connects residents of Bedok North with Tanah Merah MRT station, and plies the whole stretch of Upper East Coast and East Coast, connecting residents to the Orchard Road shopping district. On the Western side, Service 14 offers a quick connection between Jalan Bukit Merah and Buona Vista/Clementi, plying along the AYE. It also connects residents to the Orchard Road district via River Valley and Paterson.
Demand for Service 14 is generally high throughout the day, owing to a steady flow of inter-town commuters and its highly popular sectors between Orchard Road and Bukit Merah or East Coast, due to under-coverage of existing bus routes. Double-deck buses make up the bulk of the fleet. During Sundays and Public Holidays, Service 14A operates from Bedok to Grange Road to relieve heavy demand on Service 14.
On regular weekdays, its route variant Express 14e provides faster travel between Bedok North Ave 3 and Orchard Road, operating City-bound trips during the morning peak hours and Bedok-bound trips during the evening peak hours.

Since its a long trunk route, LTA can consider launching the 3-Door Alexander Dennis Enviro500 on service 14 for smoother alighting. Usually I see bus 14 crowded during peak hours. Maybe can extend the frequency to every 4 minutes during peak hours and every 8 minutes during off-peak hours. Off-peak hours can deploy Single-Deck Buses on its route and double-deck during peak hours. The Fleet should be as Follows:

Impossible, Enviro 500 (3 door) most of it are deployed on east side service. West side no chance
If it is deployed on east side service, then tell me how come Bus Service 974 and 190 can have the Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (3-Door) whereas Service 14 cannot? 974 plies between Joo Koon Interchange and loops at Bukit Panjang, which is totally in the WEST side of Singapore! Then 190 plies between Choa Chu Kang Interchange and Kampong Bahru Terminal, which is also at the WEST (just not Kampong Bahru, Kampong Bahru is slightly near Central area). So I still don’t understand why the Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (3-Door) cannot be launched on this service??
You’re right, 974 plies the west side of Singapore, but still LTA decided to launch the Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (3-Door) on this service. So weird.

Boarded bus 14 from Plaza Singapura on 23rd Feb at 1445 hrs.
Air cond upper deck is not working. If the air cond is not working, then should it be taken out of service? Without air conditioning, it is uncomfortable to a point of nauseating. When I do get off the bus, I have to wait and for another bus and pay again.

Can you make more buses for 196 and 166 to clementi from fairfield and ACS. I need to go home in time for tuition and i have very little time to eat my lunch. I need to wait for 3-4 buses before i can get on.
My daughter takes the 14 from katong pk twrs to school. It states between 6.30-8.30 on route 1 10-12 mins route 2 13-14 mins if my daughter misses the 7:10-7:15 bus she has been waiting 25 mins until the next bus comes making her miss her connecting bus and making her late for school. I feel like the 7:25-7:30 bus is always late and is causing our family a problems.
