Service 14e was introduced as a Fast-Forward variant of Service 14, offering quicker journey times for commuters travelling between the City and the housing estates more quickly than its parent route during the peak hours.
The route skips Bedok Road in both directions, plying Bedok South Avenue 3 between New Upper Changi Road and Upper East Coast Road (but does not call at any stops along that stretch). Another express sector is along Mountbatten Road / Nicoll Highway, where buses will skip all stops between Mountbatten Road (One Amber) and Nicoll Highway (Suntec City).
Formerly known as Fast Forward Bus Service 14e, it was rebranded to Express Bus Service 14e on 12 August 2018.
If the eves of Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Chinese New Year fall on a weekday, the Evening Peak departures will be brought forward to the afternoon. Revised departure times will be provided by the operator closer to the affected date.

The Bus Service Operating License (BSOL) for this route will be renewed under the Bedok Bus Package, in which the negotiated contract term was extended by an undisclosed number of years from 2023.
History:
- 2005 (12 Dec): Introduced between Bedok Nth Ave 3 (Blk 403) and Orchard Rd (Lucky Plaza) during morning peak hours and between Orchard Rd (Lucky Plaza) and Bedok Nth Ave 3 (Bet Blks 139/140) during evening peak hours as a peak hour one-directional Fast Forward service on weekdays with 3 morning and evening trips
- 2006 (29 Oct): Serves relocated bus stop outside Orchard Stn along Orchard Turn
- 2009 (23 Feb): Serves additional pair of bus stops outside and opposite Suntec City along Nicoll Highway
- 2012 (16 Jan): Fourth morning departure added
- 2015 (03 Dec): Designated wheelchair-accessible bus service (WAB)
- 2018 (12 Aug): Rebranded to an Express Bus Service from a Fast Forward Bus Service
- 2020 (15 Apr – 01 Jun): Temporarily suspended due to Singapore COVID-19 Circuit Breaker Measures.
