162 and 66 are separate services. I would rather amend 167 to Braddell Road, Bishan Road, Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, Lorong 4 Toa Payoh, Lorong 6 Toa Payoh, Jalan Toa Payoh and rejoining original route at Thomson Road. 167 can also be amended to Marina Boulevard, Straits Avenue and Park Street
Why does 162 not have double deck?
It is too late to consider. The proposal for 2023 is:
162: Yio Chu Kang – Toa Payoh (via Toa Payoh Rise, Lor 2 Toa Payoh); or consider going to Caldecott New Town? Other alternative is to merge with 66.
167 will remain as it is; seemingly it will take over 162’s load.
So 167 can be a backup service for the Thomson East Coast MRT Line in the north similar to 147.
I got a BYD K9 glitched into the wall on me
SBST should introduce a new bus service 162A
Route: Yio Chu Kang Interchange to Newton MRT Station exit B
And ONLY have the fleet of 0530 Citaros
As 807/A/B , 162 and 162M still need BYD K9s
With TEL opening, I think there is no need 162A at all. 162 can be amended.
I think Svc 162 can be withdrawn completely. YCK to Bishan sector can be replaced by existing bus services (853, and more). Upper Thomson area, there is Svc 410G/W. Upper Thomson to town/city area there is TEL and Svc 167. Especially since Svc 162/M runtime is very long and schedule is super loose
Seen a few MAN A22 (NL323F)s on 162 before
