Service 2 is a trunk route linking the suburban and residential areas of Changi Village, Simpang Bedok and Eunos to the central areas of Chinatown, Clarke Quay, Bugis and Kallang. Even though a large portion of Service 2 duplicates the East West MRT Line, it continues to receive considerable demand, both during peak and off-peak periods by shuttling commuters over short distances without the hassle of entering and exiting the MRT network.

The route also offers important connections for developments along Upper Changi Road North, Loyang Avenue and Changi Village, connecting to Upper Changi and Tanah Merah MRT station. It is also the sole bus service plying along a section of Upp Changi Link and a short section of Upp Changi Road (near ITE College East), with three pairs of bus stops not shared by any other bus service.

Service 2 is currently the lowest numerical value for any bus service in Singapore, after Service 1 was withdrawn in the past.

There is something intricate with regards to Route 2:From Kampong Bahru Road[Opposite Kampong Bahru Bus Terminal] to New Upper Changi Road[Tanah Merah Station Exit B],Route 2 in fact plies one straight lane comprising of varied roads which are combined altogether.

No idea if it’s just me, but the frequency for this bus is slightly worrying, especially for a bus connecting many unique sectors to Tanah Merah. Buses get packed with people staying in the Changi area then filled up even more with the ITE crowd, with no downroutes to alleviate the pain. No idea if it’s a resource problem at GAS or what. But does anyone who relies on the eastern stretch of 2 frequently feel this way also?

Maybe Service 2 should start and end at Pasir Ris via Pasir Ris Drive 3, Drive 4, Stret 41, Drive 6, Drive 1, Loyang Avenue then continue its existing route along Loyang Way. That way, instead of taking Service 5 thats plies Pasir Ris Drive 3 and New Loyang Link to Upp Changi Rd Nth from Pasir Ris Int, the people in Pasir Ris Town will have beter connectivity to reach Upp Changi Rd Nth with Service instead of taking a bus to Pasir Ris Int and transfer to Service 5.

This is all based on my opinions.

I think is going to be least likely because Bus 2 have been retained its most of the route for 5 decades estimated. And plus, the demand for Svc 2 have been good around Changi sector.

The driver just slow down and continue his journey without stop even I stand near to pick up and dropping point at bus stand 97201. At last I hv to take bus number 29 for prayer. Please kindly advise to me why the driver didn’t stop the bus at the bus stand I state above. Appreciate for your response.
