Go-Ahead Bus Service 3 is a trunk service connecting the residential estates of Tampines, Pasir Ris and Punggol. It is also one of the few non-loop routes in Singapore to use a bus interchange as an intermediate stop along its route (Pasir Ris Int).
Bus Service 3 was introduced in 2002 from the merger of Feeder 294 and Townlink 357, plying between Tampines and Pasir Ris before being extended to Punggol in 2003. It is a residential trunk route serving the regional centres of Punggol, Pasir Ris and Tampines estates, and incorporating a short express sector along the Tampines Expressway (TPE) between Pasir Ris and Punggol.
As remnants of its Feeder past, Service 3 continues to be the sole service running through Tampines St 21, Pasir Ris St 21 and Pasir Ris St 71, linking these neighbourhoods with Tampines Regional Centre or Pasir Ris Town Centre. Its generous operating hours are also a result of its former Feeder status.
Due to the lack of alternative routes along Tampines St 21, Pasir Ris St 21 and Pasir Ris St 71, this route partially takes up the role of connecting commuters to the town centre in Pasir Ris New Town and regional centre in Tampines New Town. It also complements the passenger demands of Service 83 within Punggol New Town. Between Pasir Ris Dr 12 and Punggol Rd, this route uses the Tampines Expressway (TPE) to connect to and from Pasir Ris and Punggol.
This service also plies different routing towards Punggol & Tampines around Tampines Street 21 and 23.
Double-deck buses were deployed on this route from 7 Sep 2015 to cater to increasing capacity on this popular route.
04 Sep 2016 – Present: Go Ahead Singapore Pte Ltd (formerly known as Go Ahead Loyang Pte Ltd)
The Bus Service Operating License (BSOL) for this route will be renewed in 2026 under the Loyang Bus Package.

Hmm reading the past comments i think Service #3 ought to be updated now that the new Halus Link is opened? Make it at least pass Pasir Ris Interchange then less stops to get to Halus Link towards Punggol much faster and more efficiently? I feel this would be a more pleasant journey for commuters both on the Tampines and Punggol sides *and* making full use of newer infrastructure in between on the Pasir Ris side!
Service 3 should serve Pasir Ris Interchange in both directions as there is no serve that directly goes to Punggol Interchange. Also make a new Berth B1A for Service 3 towards Punggol Interchange and Service 5 can relocate there and when the future two new Interchanges open, Service 3 can still call at the Interchange even if another service also goes to Punggol (which might definitely be slower)
I suggest that Service 3 should serve Pasir Ris Interchange in both directions, since none of the services from the Interchange passes through or travels to Punggol. Hence, I think Service 3 (Towards Tampines) should make its own Berth at Pasir Ris Interchange while Service 5 can also call at the same Berth until the future Pasir Ris Temporary Bus Interchange and later the Pasir Ris Integrated Transport Hub opens.
i suggest that when service 68 is introduce, service 3 should just skip pasir ris int,(towards Tampines Int) commuters should just take service 68 to tampines int
You need to think carefully. From Pasir Ris Int,
Service 68 serves residents living in Pasir Ris West (Elias) and Tampines North that is headed to Tampines Int.
Service 3, originally from Punggol, serves residents living in Pasir Ris East (Loyang) and Tampines East that is headed to Tampines Int
Rival bus headed to Tampines Int/Tampines Concourse from Pasir Ris is Bus 81 and Bus 39.

Stopping at Pasir Ris is no use, the stop must be skipped
