City Direct 673 will commence operations on Monday, 14 October 2024.

Service 673 offers residents of Punggol West improved connectivity to the Central Business District, including Marina Bay Sands and Suntec City, providing a direct travel alternative to commuters who typically rely on the rail network and feeder buses. The route features an express sector between Punggol Way and Anson Road, utilizing the TPE, CTE, Outram Road, and Cantonment Road.

At its launch, this service was part of the Travel Smart Journeys – North-East Line Scheme, aimed at alleviating peak-hour crowding on the North-East Line (NEL). Commuters who switch from the train to the bus under this scheme can earn e-transport vouchers as cashback incentives.

This is the first new City Direct bus service to be introduced since 2016, as part of the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP).
