Go-Ahead Bus Service 85 is a trunk service plying between Punggol Temp Int and Yishun Int, passing through Punggol East, Sengkang East, Sengkang West, Jln Kayu, TPE/SLE and Khatib.
Bus Service 85 is an inter-town route connecting Punggol and Sengkang towns to Yishun, while plying an express sector along the Tampines Expressway (TPE) and Seletar Expressway (SLE). While it shares a similar routing with Service 965 by connecting Sengkang and Yishun, Service 85 provides higher coverage of Sengkang and Punggol towns, while service 965 offers connections from Punggol Road (Blk 298A / Blk 190C) for bus transfers, as well as a faster route to Sengkang Interchange.

2010 (23 May): Amended to ply Sengkang East Way, Sengkang West Way and Jln Kayu, except during weekday morning peak hours towards Yishun Int. (original uni-directional route towards Yishun Int during weekday moring peak hours denoted as Service 85#)
2011 (31 Jul): Serves 3 new pairs of bus stops along Sengkang West Way
2012 (19 Nov): Amended to ply Sengkang East Way, Sengkang West Way and Jln Kayu permanently
2013 (09 Jun): Designated wheelchair-accessible bus service (WAB)

2016 (04 Sep): Operations transferred to Go Ahead Loyang Pte Ltd from SBS Transit Ltd; Weekday first bus timings from Punggol Temp Int brought forward from 6.00am to 5.30am.

Service 85, lady driver, Sg5908. We were going to board the bus but a wheelchair bound man is alighting. This she assisted the man first. The driver keep on shouting at the man who maneuvered wrongly.. Then slam the ramp after he alighted. Well maybe the ramp slipped. But the facial expressions on her face was really unpleasant. It would have been easier if she were to help n push the wheelchair
On 13 December at 4 05pm, when i was at bus stop 59069 opp blk 757 waited for 15 min long for bus 85 going back to punggol yet the bus 85 driver just drove pass us even have 4 passengers waving frantically at him. He just drove off even though he saw us.
This is totally unacceptable. Most of the bus drivers will slow down yet this driver just simply drove off.
