Service 985 is an inter-town trunk route linking housing estates around Choa Chu Kang / Teck Whye, Bukit Batok and Jln Jurong Kechil with the Central areas of Boon Keng and Kallang, incorporating an express sector along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) between Jln Jurong Kechil and Jln Toa Payoh.
The route compliments Service 190 and 975 for the Choa Chu Kang – Teck Whye stretch and Service 188 for the Choa Chu Kang – Bt Gombak stretch. It also plies between Bukit Batok – Jalan Toa Payoh along the PIE, providing a slightly longer alternative route for passengers who would otherwise rely on Express 506.

985 could be extended to Upper East Coast via the current route of 853M, but running along East Coast Road instead of Marine Parade Road and make it a full day service. Would alleviate the loading on Service 31, as well as some of the loading on Service 43 and 13. It would also give the PIE corridor access to Paya Lebar, Marine Parade and East Coast.
in future I hope 985 could extend to Changi Airport Terminal 5 instead of Lor 1 Geylang Ter, no skips in stops, just extend to Changi Airport.
It will compensate the residents whom last time lost services 149 and 989. Toa Payoh is quite near Geylang. so extend 985 to changi airport is the best decision. thanks
We need a 985a between CCK and Beauty World
Just boarded it. Somehow no news about it.
