It’s a sign that most of the 99x series will start from Tengah Blvd Int in future.992 is meant to replace the Tengah shuttle for now.I believe 993 will also get extension to Tengah.
If introduced way earlier, it would have been numbered as 944A
Actually, I believe, the 94 series only can use for Bukit Batok feeder services.
If it is for intra-town services, this type of new services in the Bukit Batok and Choa Chu Kang area has been 99 initials. Eg. 990, 991.
It is probably due to this reason, that is why the new intra-town services are numbered 992 and 993.
