Great World MRT Station (TE15) is an underground station located along the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) 3. It is built underneath River Valley Green, near River Valley Road and Kim Seng Road, bringing rail connectivity to a school, shopping mall and residential developments in the area.
The station is in the vicinity of Great World (formerly known as Great World City), River Valley Primary School, and many condominiums such as The Cosmopolitan, The Trillium, Centennia Suites, Yong An Park and many others in the area.

Great World station has two platforms in an island platform arrangement.

Exits
Great World MRT station has five exits leading to ground level, with Exit 6 being the underground link to Great World Shopping Mall (Basement 2 via Basement 3).
Exit 3 & 5 features only lift & stairs to ground level. Exit 3 also connects to an overhead bridge at Level 2 leading to Great World Shopping Mall (Level 2).
Several exits remain closed as of station opening on 13 Nov 2022, which were later progressively opened.

Construction Trivia
Contract T220 for the Construction of Great World Station and Tunnels for Thomson Line was awarded to Tiong Seng Contractors (Pte) Ltd – Dongah Geological Engineering Co., Ltd (Singapore Branch) Joint Venture (JV) at a contract sum of S315.8 million in May 2014.
The station was originally targeted for completion and opening in Year 2021. However, it was delayed till 2022 as mentioned in the SMRT Operations Review 2020.

Does Great World Mrt underpass basement 2 to Great World City.
Yes. Eventually. No date mentioned so far.
They better do something about access as there is only 1 sloping travellator leading up from B2 and it also serves the car park. The passage way is also very narrow.

What a weird name for an MRT station. Should be called River Valley MRT instead. Same for Beauty World and Mayflower and Springleaf.
Disagree. Great World bears a lot of meaning, especially for the elderly who reminisce the good old days of ‘Da Shi Jie’, which was one of the ‘worlds’ amongst the three major ‘worlds’ – Great World, Gay World, New World.
Quickly to open. Go to great world city worst long time and difficult. Open at next month
Disagree. River Valley is a VERY long road. This mrt line only cuts through perpendicular to the road at one point near Cosmopolitan. Hence RV MRT would not show its actual location.
