Early Closure of North East Line (March 2019)

Shorter operating hours along the North East Line (NEL) between HarbourFront and Dhoby Ghaut will take place on selected Fridays & Saturdays in March 2019 to facilitate additional engineering hours to accelerate works such as the replacement of rail crossing and track, and renewing parts of the power and signalling systems. This will involve early closures along the NEL.

For Friday 1 March 2019 & Saturday 2 March 2019, Early Closure for North East Line involves the sector between Serangoon and Punggol.

Affected MRT Stations

As a result, train services on the North East Line between  NE1CC29 HarbourFront and NE6NS24CC1 Dhoby Ghaut will be unavailable during the periods of closure. Train services remain unaffected along the remaining sections of the NEL (Dhoby Ghaut — Punggol).

Affected Hours & Dates

• On days of Early Closure:
  – Fridays: 8, 15, 22 & 29 March 2019
  – Saturdays: 9, 16, 23 & 30 March 2019
  last trains will depart around 11:00 pm on the affected stretch.

Last Train Timings at Affected Stations

Southbound towards (6) HarbourFront

Northbound towards (7) Punggol

Extended LRT Operating Hours

LRT Train Services will be extended on affected days.

Shuttle Bus Services

A Shuttle Bus Service will be provided throughout the duration of the early closures. Fares for the Shuttle Bus Services are equivalent to the distance travelled by train.

Extended Bus Operating Hours

On days of Early Closure, the last buses for residential bus services will be extended to allow commuters to connect from the Shuttle Bus Services.

  Service 83 – 1:10am (Ends at Sengkang Int)
