The interim bus interchange commenced operations on Sunday, 21 July 2024. This facility is not to be confused with the upcoming Tengah Integrated Transport Hub, which will be built at Tengah Town Centre, adjacent to Tengah MRT Station (Jurong Region Line).
Tengah Bus Interchange serves Bus Services 870, 871, and 992.

Brief History
In December 2019, the construction tender for the bus interchange (Contract PT396 – Proposed Design and Construction of Bus Interchange and Associated Works at Tengah Boulevard) was put up by the Land Transport Authority. This contract was awarded to Tat Hin Builders Pte Ltd in October 2020. The location of the interchange was also indicated within Tengah town maps issued by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) in 2020.
Tengah Bus Interchange opened on Sunday, 21 July 2024. Bus Services 870 & 992, which were loop services, were extended to serve the new interchange and become bi-directional services. A new bus service, 871, was also introduced on the same day, connecting Tengah New Town with Bukit Gombak and Beauty World.
Tengah Bus Interchange has three alighting and six boarding berths, with vehicle access via a signalised intersection with Tengah Boulevard.
Future Plans
The interchange is likely to be an interim facility, as it is zoned for residential use under the URA Master Plan 2019. Another bus interchange is being built to serve Tengah New Town—Tengah Integrated Transport Hub—which is situated adjacent to Tengah MRT Station (Jurong Region Line).
In line with current LTA naming conventions, interim and/or temporary bus interchanges no longer carry the “Temporary” name.

Above the suggestions!
Ridiculous suggestion. No way they will make service 871 run from tengah to YCK. The route is too long.
Hello CCK/BP
New Tengah Residents!
I am a residents staying in Bt Panjang for many donkey years and would like to share my suggestions for replace Svc 927 to Svc 128.
Here’s, I would like to share my suggestions:
Svc 128
Tengah – CCK/Bt Panjang – Singapore Zoo (Loop)
Tengah via
Tengah Blvd/Dr, Tengah Gdn Walk/Ave,
Plantation Cres, Bt Batok/Brickland Rd,
Choa Chu Kang Ave 3/4, Choa Chu Kang Dr,

Bt Panjang Ring/Senja Rd, Woodlands/Mandai Rd,
Mandai Lake Rd (Loop).
All comments are welcome 🙏
Its unnecessarily windy. This will inconvenience the personnel of the SPF/SAF camps along Mandai Rd that need to rely on 927 to get to/from CCK MRT quickly.
Also, Mandai – BP is already covered by 171. Makes much more sense to extend 171 to Tengah Int instead.
Well. Please see the new comments. Tq
With the BCEP, there should be much more bus services going to Tengah (introduce bus before residents fully move in???)
Below Donovan Neo has mentioned 171 to extend by December, which is good news if it is true.
Below many mentioned extending 181 too, which I thought is an amazing idea.. until I realised the JRL duplication that comes with it. It would have really benefitted with downroute Bus spam for morning peak hours as it’s easier with bidirectional buses, plus connecting JW with Tengah.
My ideas (which are lame) are for new bus service to connect Tengah to: Punggol Coast, Central (HIGH CHANCE OF CITY DIRECT), Changi Airport, Tuas.
Anyone got any ideas..?

Insider information has suggested that bus service 171 will be extended to Tengah bus interchange in December 2024 when residents have started moving into Parc Woods and Parc Clover. Instead of looping at Bukit Panjang, it will follow the route of bus service 180 along Choa Chu Kang Road and Bukit Batok Road, before turning in at Tengah Drive into the bus interchange. This will provide Tengah residents with a quick connection to Bukit Panjang MRT and Yishun MRT.
Anyone realise there’s a SBS Transit Office situated at Tengah Bus Interchange? Looks like there will be a SBS Transit Bus that will terminate at this interchange. I wonder what bus service it will be.
My best guess is 181, eventually, when the roads at Hong Kah area open and connect to Jurong West Avenue 2 (refer to the URA master plan for the map).
181 can potentially extend northwards from Jurong West Avenue 3 to connect to the Jurong Innovation District (when the roads open up), and then connect to the JRL Corporation station.
Then, it can proceed eastwards to Tengah (Tengah Way and Tengah Drive).
This route extension would add about 4.8km to 181’s route. One direction would be about 8km only. Which is still quite short.
Most trunks are about 10-16km per direction (eg. 192/193 and 185). 99 is about 17km.
871 from Tengah Int to Beauty World is about 10km. If 181 absorb 871, and become from Boon Lay to Beauty World via Jurong Innovation District, Tengah and Bukit Batok, pretty much this would be a relatively complete route.
Nonetheless, 871 priority should go 154 west segment, if they want to cut short 154 due to the operational challenges.
181 can potentially just change to originate from Tengah, and extend south beyond Boon Lay Bus Interchange, next time when the Jurong Region Line opens. Or become a 16km loop service also can.
With that, I have kinda addressed this possibility already.
