The Enviro500 is a low-floor, three-axle double-deck transit bus built by Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) since 2002. All Enviro500 buses in Singapore are of the third-generation make, better referred to as the Enviro500 MMC, which has been in production since 2012.

SMRT Buses was initially the sole operator of the Enviro500 MMC in Singapore bringing in an initial batch of 201 buses in 2014,  With the gradual implementation of the Bus Contracting Model (BCM), Enviro500 buses owned by the Government were also operated by Tower Transit, who was awarded the Bulim Bus Package.

Second Batch of 15 buses

Orders for fifteen (15) more ADL Enviro500 MMC buses were placed in late 2016, to expand the existing bus pool under the Bus Contracting Model (BCM).

The second batch of Enviro500 MMC buses feature the same technical specifications as the initial 201 buses delivered in 2014. Although ADL had launched a Facelifted Enviro500 MMC in late 2015, the LTA did not opt for the newer bodywork design. They come equipped with USB Charging Ports and tinted passenger windows. A pair of emergency hammers are located next to the upper deck front windscreen, with another pair mounted above the rear window, a feature common to Enviro500 buses built for the Hong Kong market.

These buses were registered on 10 August 2017 as SG5700T to SG5714D, under SMRT Buses. Their registration coincided with the retirement of a batch of 15 Mercedes-Benz O405G (Hispano Habit) buses (TIB1056R – TIB1070Z) which were deregistered on 15 August 2017 and were hence seen as direct replacements.

Aiya… LTA does not need to force Go-Ahead. How about SBS Transit and Tower Transit?

Add-on: Enviro500 buses will also be operated by SBS Transit, the successful tenderer of Seletar bus package. Well that could happen with 13 services that will be taken over from SMRT.

Yes for Seletar which serves Yishun, Yio Chu Kang and Ang Mo Kio. Most likely some of the services will be using them. I’m not so sure for Go-Ahead Bus Service 136.

False. Stop misleading people in LTA facebook page and here.

First, there is no specific information regarding that, so stop it.

Secondly, SBST current fleet does not have sufficient buses to deploy on SMRT routes.

Third, Under the BCM, these packages will have to use BSEP buses, and with only 200 B9TL and some mercedes left to be delivered, it is still not enough.

Lastly, SMRT were given B9TL and Mercedes for a reason, and that is to cover up for the loss of enviros and MAN NL323F that would be used for future bus packages. Furthermore, this was confirmed by a LTA spokesmen and SMRT staffs.
