Service 114 is a residential trunk route linking the housing estates at Buangkok Crescent to the transport node of Buangkok MRT station.

The route primarily benefits residents along Buangkok Link and Buangkok Crescent, offering convenient access to Buangkok MRT station. The estate was previously served by Bus Services 101 and 329, both of which connected to Hougang MRT station.

Buses layover at Compassvale Bus Interchange. The route was amended to start and end at Buangkok Bus Interchange with its opening on 1 December 2024.

Cancelled Service 101 Extension to Buangkok MRT Station

Originally planned as a route extension for Service 101 from Buangkok Crescent to Buangkok MRT station to take effect from 11 October 2020, the amendment was cancelled following feedback raised by commuters. In particular, concerned was raised regarding the skipping of two bus stops along Buangkok Link as part of the amendment.

In lieu of this planned route extension, Service 114 was introduced from Buangkok MRT Station to loop at Buangkok Crescent instead. No changes were made to existing Bus Services 101 and 329.

Under Serangoon contract? It doesn’t go anywhere near Serangoon or Geylang.

Sengkang-Hougang Package currently have MANY bus services than Serangoon Package. What to expect? Sengkang-Hougang Package is expected to be renew from 2021/2022 which is already too late

Give 117 to Loyang contract just as 991 was given to CCK. 114 can fit into Hougang contract this way. 136 better off in Serangoon.

Perfect bus service to link residents to the nearest MRT. have been taking 101 in hopes of catching 43/43M at the Buangkok Green bus stop and taking minimally 15 mins to reach the train station.

Hoping SBS considers shifting more buses to 114 from 329. An off peak frequency of 20 mins can be damn bad if you’re really unlucky. 8 mins during Peak and 10-12 mins during Off Peak, similar to that of 101, will be best IMO.

Let me guess… 3 buses during peak and 2 buses during off peak?

I wish I will expect service 114 to be deployed mostly Double-Decker buses.

Just buy bendies already… so short distance put double deckers is useless, not many people would be willing to go up, some more the dwell time would be quite long.

If most of the demand ends up moving to 114, then might as well withdraw 329.

Tbf still a LOT of people depend on 329 to go to Hougang MRT and the surroundings. 329 is basically like a shorter and more direct route of 101, which takes a way longer route to get to Hougang. I feel that even if 114 is introduced there will still be people who still decide to ride 329. Maybe they will ride 114 on the way to work/school if they choose MRT. But, when they come back, how many of them will be willing to go that extra MRT stop to ride 114? Maybe a lot. But the fact that 329 is still an important route as a supplementary route for 101 still remains. I think if we removed 329 it would cause an outrage since there are still people who want to get to places like Hougang One, Hougang Ave 9 and the MRT/bus interchange without walking or having to ride long bus rides. 114 is solely meant to link Buangkok Crescent residents to Buangkok MRT (if they don’t wanna walk all the way to ride 43/M). Although I’m very sure demand for 329 will decrease because of 114, so they may lower the frequencies(although 329 experiences a lot of ridership especially during school hours and peak hours). If we removed 329 that would most likely put even more burden on 101. Besides, there is also the Hougang Ave 4/9 part!

Why not withdraw this dumb route instead and boost Sv329’s frequency, so we can improve journeys for more people?

You withdraw 329 later abit inconvenient for residents to Hougang residents. Need to think carefully on residents needs.
