City Direct Service 672 provides residents of Hougang with greater connectivity to the CBD. The service provides a travel alternative for commuters who relied on the rail network and feeder buses to and from work. The route incorporates an express sector between Hougang and the CBD via Tampines Rd, KPE and MCE.
This is the twenty-second City Direct service to be introduced under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), which provides more options for commuters using stretches of the existing rail lines that experience persistently high ridership, while the ongoing rail enhancement measures are being implemented.
The tender for this route was called for on 15 April 2016. Free rides were given out to commuters on the first day of service, 7 November 2016.
The route was further enhanced under the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) from 11 November 2024, with a route extension to Suntec City via Bayfront.

Where is the 735 am bus ?
Usually 735 bus is on time but now only arrived at 745am?
When a bus never comes, how do you inform us? There is no number online and so many people queueing waiting for the bus. How do we know it is late or never come? Quite frustrating!
you could download Nestia or MyTransport to check the bus arrival time.
Given that the journey from Hougang to MBFC takes more than an hour, can add another two buses earlier at 7am and 7.20am. This is for people who need to start work at 8am and 8.30am.
Can add a earlier bus at 6.10pm. 6.20pm is little bit long to wait for people going out of office before/at 6 pm
