Regarding the fact that the authorities are looping this new bus service around the Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange instead of terminating there, it means the Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange lacks space, or the ground is reserved for future transport connections. Furthermore, this new public bus duplicates Bus 983 and Bus 300 between Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4 and the Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange. However, the bus stop is at the Keat Hong community centre across the road, rather than Lot One on the side of the interchange.

Truly, it will heavily relieve the burden from Bus 983 and Bus 300. This service duplicates 60% of Bus 300 and 33% of Bus 983. As a good result, the citizens will enjoy less crowded, more spacious buses.

For the residents of Tengah, this service will firmly connect Choa Chu Kang residents to the Tengah Parc Point shopping centre. It will make that commercial center overflow with crowds, thus making it much more successful for the economy.

All in all, this is an exceptionally excellent bus service. My heart swells with anticipation for the grand launch of this bus service on October 25, 2026.

They probably observed that the Keat Hong CC bus stop has more capacity and less usage than the Lot One bus stop. With the LRT tracks above the pedestrian crossing, there is essentially a sheltered walking route connecting the Keat Hong CC bus stop and Choa Chu Kang MRT station.

So there is not really much problem. The distance from the bus stop to the MRT station is probably even shorter than the walk when taking Service 871 at Bukit Gombak MRT station, and quite similar to the walk when taking Service 992 at Bukit Batok Bus Interchange.

Since the whole walking route is sheltered, taking Service 874 at Choa Chu Kang may be just as comfortable as taking Service 992 at Bukit Batok.

CCK no more space… Peak hours congestion somemore.. It would be suicide if 874 terminate here.

Just as the first bus services to Tengah from Bukit Batok and Jurong West were extensions of existing bus services, I think the service from Choa Chu Kang could also be an existing bus service extended to Tengah.

This is because it is Tengah that may need a new bus service, while Choa Chu Kang’s public bus network has already been well developed for a long time.
