Tower Transit Bus Service 965 will be amended within Woodlands town in the future, serving the new housing estate of UrbanVille @ Woodlands along Woodlands Avenue 5.
A new pair of bus stops will be constructed along Woodlands Avenue 5 outside and opposite Block 905 (part of the UrbanVille @ Woodlands development).
Plans for the amendment were reflected in the LTA Travel Guide for UrbanVille @ Woodlands, which was released as part of the HDB MyNiceHome Roadshow for the new housing estate in April 2026.
In the vicinity map, a pair of future bus stops were indicated with Service 965 to serve them.
In addition, Service 965 was also indicated to serve Republic Polytechnic, indicating that it may continue along Woodlands Avenue 9 towards Sengkang.
Amendment
On 20 April 2026, the route amendment for Service 965 was announced to take effect from Sunday 24 May 2026, with the route extended to Buangkok Int and routing in the Woodlands area via Woodlands Ave 5, Woodlands Ave 9, Woodlands St 82 & Woodlands Ave 4.

If you ask me, once again, Tower Transit getting all the glory in another primary operator’s town. Got any amendments or extension, sure bound to be TTS. 984? TTS. Why? Because it terminates at Jurong Town Hall, which is under TTS even though it plies Bt Panjang and CCK. 965 now gets extended and even plies more roads in Woodlands which is ridiculous. Next time if got new service to Punggol from Woodlands, Go Ahead will operate. This is just an example. Primary operator is just to operate mostly feeders and short trunks assigned to them. Unless it is TTS or GAS, then they will be given all the privileges just because they are in charge of Bulim, Loyang, Sembawang -Yishun and Tampines. Really sucks. It’s like every time new service or major amendment, sure will be TTS or GAS. SMRT Buses and SBS Transit now being sidelined. Even the Jurong West package also is like a dead package with no room to grow because Boon Lay is practically no space and some more, already got exsiting services and MRT lines in place. Plus, Tuas and Joo Koon are industrial areas, so not exactly a place to grow or expand the bus service network since mostly on weekdays I suppose industrial site busy. With Kallang and Chencharu upcoming, if it is TTS again, i rest my case. Like that might as well just give Seletar to TTS since LTA favours them so much.
Relax bro, Coincident Tengah is developing so anchor operator is TTS. If you want to talk about favour look at Yishun Int who is the dominance there despite TTS is the main operator? Who gets the full scale EV buses first and depots? LTA did this way for a reason. You wonder why is there TTS at Woodlands right? Remember last time before SMRT has GALI Batu where do they park their buses particularly Bt Panjang svc? Woodlands Depot and bus park that tine is already bursting and AMK cannot help much either. Now you know why Yishun feeders 851 851e 852 all under SBST instead of TTS? And why 169 858 963 963e 965 966 and 969 under TTS? I’m sure there is reshuffle of bus package in future once many new depots is operational.
I do agree bro that most likely, there will be reshuffle of bus services. I don’t believe that one package can have until 50 or 60 services. That’s really pushing it already. They are building a depot in Yishun, right? Plus AMK will also have a new bus depot at the former SBST AMK depot. By the way, suddenly CCK-Bt Panjang and Woodlands bus packages dates no news so far? They are supposed to expire this year, right? Another extension given? I am asking because I am sure that they were given 3 years extension in 2023 and it’s supposed to expire this year.
There is zero correlation in your point. Theres no pattern of favoritism. However bus services are allocated and however they are amended are driven by how efficient it is to operate, such as depot proximity, amount of buses available, network connectivity etc, not which operator is favoured. 965 amendment was planned for better coverage in Woodlands *and* to reduce duplication with another service, 969, not to privilege TTS.
SBST & SMRT still control some of the largest bus packages which arguably has more operational strain than these new or extended services. And they aren’t being sidelined from these new services or amendments either! (In fact 22 out of 41 amendments/new services under BCEP were done under SBST & SMRT, thats *more than half*). My point being, theres no imbalance towards TTS, the increasing amount of amendments/new services done under TTS is just a byproduct of new towns emerging & travel patterns changing which naturally requires more service changes.
And just a reminder that 181 is receiving a major extension to Tengah soon, which already disproves your point that Jurong West Package is dead.
So its not favouritism, its just that TTS bus packages is conveniently located in the right place where commuters require new travel options (new towns like Tengah & Chencharu are just the start, Sembawang North is coming soon too)
Prepare for major amendments in Woodlands with Woodlands North RTS springing up, major amendments under the 2h runtime limit etc. they aren’t limited to TTS, thats for sure
It’s not favourtism, but it really was a mistake to let TTS exist. Their buses are somehow both unreliable AND slow. You’d think if they’re slow because they stick to schedule they’d have good frequency but apart from like 969, 992, and Marina buses the other services are almost invisible
withdrawn 984
Wakao, If stuck TPE accident jam good luck.. One thing RP students can utilise the svc beside relying on 169 902…Good luck to Blk 688 commuters now have to rely only 969 to go beyond Almiralty MRT. Should have a new svc looping at Ave 7 to compliment 969.
688 commuters can also take bus to Sembawang, stereotypes much?
??? 688 don’t exist
what a shitty extension. Why not use 903 or something which normally is rarely used. A lot of people use 965 and 969 to go Yishun. Now it will take longer to go Yishun
there’s 858, 969 and mrt vro
The original plan for a new Woodlands feeder ended up as this
Shocked
Amendment confirmed. Will happen on 24 May, with an extension to Buangkok Interchange and convert into bi-direction
