Sunwin iEV12

The Sunwin iEV12 is a 12-metre, full low-floor electric single-deck bus developed by Chinese bus manufacturer Sunwin Bus, a subsidiary of SAIC Motor, for overseas public transport markets. Sunwin buses are distributed in Singapore by Eurokars CV, part of Eurokars Group.

Product information for the bus was published through a showcase listing for Singapore Urban Mobility Week (SUMW) 2026, scheduled to be held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre in November 2026. The iEV12 will be exhibited at the event by Shanghai Sunwin Bus Corporation. According to Sunwin, the bus is scheduled to undergo a six-month road testing and validation programme in Singapore.

Platform

The iEV12 bus was first unveiled under SAIC Motor’s MG Commercial brand as the MG iEV12 at Busworld Europe in Brussels, Belgium, in October 2025. The European-market model was presented in a left-hand-drive configuration, unlike the right-hand-drive version intended for Singapore.

In July 2026, Sunwin exhibited a right-hand-drive iEV12 battery-electric city bus at the Australasia Bus & Coach Expo in Sydney, Australia. The same unit was already configured with three passenger doors to Singapore specifications.

Eurokars CV Pte Ltd previously participated in the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Contract PT602 tender for 660 electric buses in 2025. The company was part of a two-company consortium that was not shortlisted for the tender, with the six contracts subsequently awarded to other suppliers in December 2025.

How the hell did they manage to make the count 98 on a 3 door when even A22 E5 with 2 doors and 1 wheelchair bay max count is 91?

If all made in china, the advantage is that the technology is either largely the same or the same, thereby potentially allowing us to enjoy economies of scale in terms of maintenance (lower unit cost) and management (only need to know how to maintain one or a small number of variation).

It will also help to transfer the EV knowledge from China to Singapore. China has perfected their EV research and development. Singapore can potentially learn a lot about EV from China.

So basically your idea is to sell Singapore out to China, and forcing the country into a monopoly and forcing it into Chinese hegemony, while untested Chinese bom- I mean EVs, explode left and right

Yeah no I’d rather ASEAN cooperate together
