Service 805 provides residents of Yishun South with greater connectivity to transport nodes at Yishun Central. It also serves other amenities in the neighborhood, such as Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Yishun Community Hospital and SAFRA Yishun. It is the fifty-sixth (56th) service to be introduced under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP).

This service benefits residents of newly-built residential developments along Yishun Street 51, namely the HDB Build-to-Order (BTO) developments of Acacia Breeze as well as the various BTO developments then under construction, such as Oleander Breeze and Palm Breeze @ Yishun. It also serves various schools such as Naval Base Pri Sch, Orchid Park Sec Sch and Northland Pri Sch.

The route provides a faster alternative to Yishun MRT Station for Yishun Avenue 4 residents as compared to Intratown 811 & 812. Also, Feeder 805 provides an alternative route to Yishun Central alongside Service 117 along Yishun Avenue 1.

The services continues the 80X series of route numbering used for Yishun Feeder Routes.

First Day of Operations

To commemorate the launch of Service 805, Members of Parliament for Nee Soon GRC, Dr Faishal Ibrahim and Dr Lee Bee Wah, took a short ride on the route, while also giving out flyers and valentines hearts in the spirit of Valentines Day. Despite a full fleet of rigid Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses, a MAN A22 Bus, SMB3165Z, was dispatched for one special departure trip from Yishun to carry the MPs and their party around.

Service 805 is unique being the first BSEP service to debut with a full fleet of non-BSEP buses.

I hope 805 can use BSEP buses as Ang Mo Kio has enough BSEP bus for it.
