Feeder Service 261 is a short feeder route serving residents and schools at Ang Mo Kio Neighborhood 4 (along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10) with connections to Ang Mo Kio Town Centre, and also provides connections to and from Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 1.
The service benefits from demand from both residential estates and the industrial estate in opposite directions during peak hours, making the route highly efficient in terms of fleet usage over distance.
During Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve & Chinese New Year’s Eve, Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix weekend, as well as MRT Early Closure affecting Ang Mo Kio MRT Station, operating hours for Service 261 will be extended from Ang Mo Kio Bus Interchange. The exact last bus hours are announced by SBS Transit closer to these dates.
School-Friendly Public Bus Service Trial
From 9 May 2024 to 15 November 2024, Service 261 will be designated as a “School-Friendly Public Bus Service” under a trial conducted by SBS Transit, in collaboration with Townsville Primary School.
Bus ambassadors, some of whom are parent volunteers at Townsville Primary School, accompany students onboard 3 trips of Service 261 in the morning from Ang Mo Kio Int to the bus stop Opp Townsville Pr Sch along Ang Mo Kio Ave 10. They then cross the road with the students after alighting from the bus to reach the school gate of Townsville Primary School.
After school, ambassadors walk pupils from the school gate of Townsville Primary School to the bus stop across the road, and accompany them to Ang Mo Kio Int onboard Bus 261.
Additionally, several Scania K230UB buses were wrapped with advertisements promoting the school-friendly public bus service.
The three morning and afternoon trips where bus ambassadors will be deployed are as follows:
