Service 968 is an upcoming bus service operating from Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange to support the opening of the RTS Link Woodlands North station.
This service will be introduced under the LTA’s Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP), a ~$900 million government scheme that funds the purchase of new buses, infrastructural improvements, and operating costs of new bus services between 2024–2032.
Details for the service were announced as part of the BCEP update by LTA in September 2026.
Route Details
Operating from Woodlands Temp Int, Service 968 connects residents to Woodlands North, Woodlands South, and Admiralty MRT stations.

I hope this fall under tts
Interesting that they chose the number 968… wouldn’t 914 be more suitable?
What to do.. Else they will adhere to below 10 mins interval during peak hours and more buses needed. 967 also can be 915.
Both of you are wrong. 91X routes are usually reserved for ‘intratowns’ that do both an east and west bound loop.
They’re better off as being 905 and 906 instead.
No… intratown/townlink do not need to be strictly a double-loop service, all it needs to be is a feeder that connects two sides of a town while passing through the town centre. By your logic, 222, 265, 268, 298 and 299, some of the most famous townlinks, would not qualify. 968 perfectly works as an intratown, since it would run Woodlands North -> Woodlands -> Woodlands South -> Admiralty (LOOP), and would definitely fit your own definition of an intratown before Woodlands North Interchange opens.
298 and 299 don’t qualify, partially because they didn’t even exist when the townlink branding was a thing. 381 would have counted, if looking at how 222 is counted. 265/268 don’t qualify either since they don’t start at AMK. 91x and 81x are townlinks because they originate from the centre and then loop at both ends
Response to I am the townlink knower:
I agree with what you are saying, however, one has to analyse the definition of a Townlink/Intratown. The definition of this class of feeders is not a double loop, but simply to run from one side of a town to the other, passing the town centre along the way. 968 would fit this definition, along with 265, 268, 298 and 299. The reason why they do not run as a double-loop is strictly for operational ease, to reduce crowding at the main town hubs by laying over at one of the “looping-points”. They still essentially run as Townlinks/Intratowns.
Suspect LTA might ask SMRT to lease a few A22 E6 and even Citaro from GAS since they have many E6 A22.
Please improve the 856 bus service running between Senoko and Admiralty, or between Woodlands North and Senoko. During the morning rush hour at Woodlands North Station, it is impossible to board the bus; even when a double-decker arrives, the lower deck is packed with standing passengers while the upper deck remains empty—resulting in very poor efficiency.
Impossible, Usually upper deck is also fully seated unless you only see one off, There’s 856B and C too.. Peak hours is between 3 to 6 mins and do you know 856 is the only service that go from Woodlands North St to Senoko? Fleet are all double deckers.. The only way is to add a few more svc from Tower Transit and SMRT.
Say anyhow anything. 856 upper deck has no seat. 856/B/C all give frequency of 02-04 mins at Woodlands North to manage the heavy load. Yes queue can be very long if bus bunching happens which is common but nothing can be done.
I hope this bus service 968 will be operated by SMRT Buses under Woodlands Bus Package once it debuts for revenue service.
It is under SMRT Woodlands
