The Tampines Bus Package will be progressively taken over by Go-Ahead Singapore in July 2026.
The transfer of bus services will take place across two tranches, to ensure a seamless transition for commuters.

Under the Bus Contracting Model (BCM), bus routes are bundled into bus packages, consisting of a single bus depot, several bus interchanges/terminals, the bus routes and the buses themselves. With all bus infrastructure belonging to the Government, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) would contract out the bus package, select a bus operator (through a competitive tendering process), and lease these assets to the new operator.
The successful tenderer operates these bus routes and collects fares on behalf of LTA, while maintaining the associated bus infrastructure (buses & onboard equipment, depots, interchanges & terminals). In return, the operator is awarded an operating fee from LTA, and potential bonuses via an incentive framework.
The Tampines Bus Package is one of fourteen bus packages under the BCM, and the seventh package to be tendered out.
Bus services in the Tampines Bus Package mainly originate from Tampines, Tampines North & Tampines Concourse Bus Interchanges, as well as Changi Business Park Bus Terminal.
As the awarded operator, Go-Ahead Singapore will take over the 29 existing bus services operated by SBS Transit in two tranches on 5 July 2026 & 19 July 2026
Bus operations for the Tendered Package would be based out of the brand new East Coast Bus Depot.
Transitioning Dates
Similar to previous bus packages, bus services under the Tampines Bus Package will be transferred to Go-Ahead Singapore in stages, starting from Sunday, 5 July 2026.

Training Fleet
To facilitate the training of Go-Ahead Singapore staff to the various bus models for the Tampines Bus Package, buses were transferred from SBS Transit to Go-Ahead Singapore from January 2026.
These bus models are:
- Scania K230UB (Euro IV)
- Mercedes-Benz Citaro
- Volvo B5LH
- Volvo B9TL Wright
- MAN A95 (Euro 6)
- Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (3-door)

The 39 Years old Tampines Central Bus Interchange Station MUST ;be Redevelop into a Modern Airconditioned Bus 🚌 Interchange Station Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) like Pasir Ris ITH, Bedok etc.
Pasir Ris ITH Bus 🚌 Interchange Station is Go Ahead Bus 🚌 service Management and Have a Few Existing SBS Transit Bus services that served Pasir Ris ITH.
Pasir Ris Mall and Condominium Residence are Built with Airconditioned Bus 🚌 Interchange Station and Same Concept for Tampines Central Bus Interchange Station.
the Temporary Tampines Central Bus Interchange 🚌 Station Can be Built next to Tampines Concourse Bus Interchange 🚌 Station and Absorbing the 1 One Sole SBS Transit Bus 🚌 service 39 into the fold.
very hard to redevelop because tampines concourse not enough space to take in all the tampines services,you cannot let them terminate roadside also very inconvenient.you see jurong east temporary already far far walk,if you do that to tampines,even more people going complain.when commuters kao bei kao bu u help lta settle thanks.
Tamp North getting ITH already, it can absorb some of the Tampines services.

Go Ahead finally acquired second bus package, after 10 years in Singapore. At the minimum, each operator should have 2, so that in case lose 1, won’t immediately go extinct, still got that 1 remaining package to make improvements and hopefully gain another 1 back.
I have a feeling they might not be able to hold onto Loyang. maybe they’ll get lucky with Serangoon. then Loyang sekali go to SMB.
Regarding this point, I checked the incorporation dates of GAS, TTS, SBST and SMRT Buses. All of them, except TTS, have Saturn in their incorporation charts (although GAS’s Saturn is almost completely obscured by the Sun), which is traditionally associated with long-term stability and sustainability. Likewise, all of them, except SMRT Buses, have Jupiter, which is commonly associated with growth and expansion. However, TTS’s Jupiter is positioned higher than GAS’s, which may explain why TTS expanded its operating territory earlier than GAS.
From an astrological perspective, SMRT Buses is likely to continue operating indefinitely, although its operating territory may gradually shrink. SBST also appears likely to remain a long-term operator and may even expand its operating territory. TTS has the potential for expansion, but perhaps without the same level of structural stability, particularly as it was established under the Bus Contracting Model (BCM) as part of the introduction of a new operator. GAS, on the other hand, may ultimately prove more resilient than TTS, as its organisational culture appears to be more firmly established.
Based on these astrological alignments, I believe TTS is the operator most likely to expand beyond a sustainable level before eventually leaving the market or reducing its operations to a single package. It is possible that TTS is already facing challenges in managing two packages, although these may not yet be apparent to the general public.
My personal predictions are as follows:
1. In the long term, the Bulim package may transfer from TTS to GAS. I do not think it is likely to be awarded to SBST because of the Jurong Region Line (JRL), while SMRT Buses does not appear astrologically inclined towards expansion, but rather towards long-term continuity. If GAS were to secure the Bulim package, it could eventually operate bus services stretching from the east to the west of Singapore.
2. SMRT Buses is likely either to maintain its current operating territory indefinitely or to lose one or two packages over time. However, I do not believe its position will become weaker than that of TTS.
3. SBST’s overall position appears secure. Any loss of a package would most likely be part of a broader strategic arrangement that allows another operator to gain one. For example, the transfer of the Jurong West Bus Package coincided with SBST taking over the Jurong Region Line, making it more of a mutually beneficial exchange than a genuine loss.
4. TTS is likely either to remain at its current scale or to lose one of its two packages in the long run. Based on this interpretation, its long-term capacity appears to be limited to operating two or three packages.
Therefore, I do not think GAS should be underestimated. From this astrological perspective, it appears to be a stronger and more resilient organisation than TTS, with a more deeply established organisational culture.
