Opened on 29 June 2025, rail connections are offered via the Punggol Coast MRT station. Teck Lee LRT Station is also within walking distance.

The Interchange:

Plans for the interchange were first mooted as part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s 2019 Draft Masterplan and also in the Land Transport Master Plan 2040. The interchange would be sited within the Punggol Digital District, Singapore’s pilot Enterprise District comprising JTC’s mixed-use developments, and the Singapore Institute of Technology’s (SIT) new campus.

The bus interchange would be developed by JTC Corporation, the statutory board that develops Singapore’s industrial land. Within the PDD, the interchange is sited at ground level just west of Punggol Coast MRT station (designated JTC Parcel CC1 in planning diagrams), a business park development comprising PDD Towers 1, 2 and 3 (later named Towers 80, 82 and 84).

The interchange is bounded by Sentul Walk to the west, Punggol Way to the north, the Punggol Heritage Trail (former Punggol Road) to the east, and Campus Boulevard to the south. It is integrated with both Punggol Coast Mall and Punggol Coast MRT.

The main vehicle ingress/egress route at Punggol Coast ITH is via a signalised junction along Sentul Walk, with backup access leading to Punggol Way.

The opening of the interchange was announced on 20 May 2025. On 29 June 2025, the interchange opened to commuters with the extension of Bus Services 34 and 117/117M from Punggol Interchange. New routes and further enhancements to bus services will be implemented progressively in tandem with the completion of new developments in Punggol.

Pre-opening name change

The Land Transport Authority referenced the name ‘Punggol North Bus Interchange’ in a travel guide for residents of Punggol Point Woods housing estate (dated September 2023).

However, in June 2024, the operator poster for the amendment of Service 84 indicates that the interchange is named “Punggol Coast ITH”. Locality maps at the newly opened Teck Lee LRT Station also referenced the future bus interchange as “Punggol Coast”.

From the picture, which was recently added to this article, there seems to be 25 parking lots.

Punggol Int has 51 parking lots.

This means Punggol North Int, can only accommodate 49% of Punggol Int’s bus routes, if taking over Punggol Int’s load was the intention.

Perhaps, the eventual plan is to have two ITHs at Punggol: one at Punggol MRT and another at Punggol Coast MRT.

If that’s the case, the eventual Punggol ITH would probably have around 26 parking lots, which means it would probably have the same scale as Punggol North ITH.

I think Bus 84 should star at punggol North bus interchange and terminate at Tampines north Interchange

In my opinion, the Punggol North ITH could be just a showcase ITH, that serves as a “test bed” for “new ITH technologies”.

It could well be just 1 sawtooth boarding berth, and serving just up to 3 bus routes.

After all, the location of Punggol North ITH is not central, and it does not make sense for commuters to use Punggol North ITH as the transfer point for the first and last mile public transport connection in Punggol.

The bus routes that use Punggol North ITH could well be just 84 and the future service. With provision for another future service if there is demand to justify it in future – in line with the practice in the engineering industry, to set aside 30% for spare capacity.

This Punggol North ITH could just be a showcase ITH. So, don’t need to expect so many bus routes to reroute to this location, and create so much inconvenience to the existing commuters.

And if it is indeed a showcase ITH, bus service 110 at Compassvale Bus Interchange which runs to Changi Airport, should be rerouted to this ITH, so that prospective tourists at Changi Airport can take 110 to this ITH and be amazed at just how innovative the Punggol North ITH could be.

With that, don’t really need to bear too much anticipation about the Punggol North ITH.

In fact, if 110 goes to Punggol North ITH, the remaining bus service 374 at Compassvale Bus Interchange can reroute to the upcoming ITH at Buangkok MRT station, and effectively make the Compassvale Bus Interchange close shop, to consolidate resources.

The above are my honest opinions.

Technically what you said may be kind of true since the interchange is also developed by JTC.

However must also take note that with the district being developed for future industries ppl from all over SG may need some form of transport to get there.

And don’t tell me there’s North East Line, Cross Island Line and LRT for it lah, bcos of this is the case it’s will be Super congested during peak hours! Especially LRT, with the already present problem with heavy ppl traffic, it will be SUPER intensified with the opening of the Digital District!

Feeder services from Punggol could also not make the situation better (unless it’s an industrial feeder starting from Punggol North). Like that imagine ppl who actually NEED these services from Punggol to get home will be faced with packed crowds. And considering the fact that most feeders (and Trunk 84) in Punggol actually use a huge fleet of Citaros (oh my god the capacity!), it’s going to become another huge problem.

So, if Punggol North ITH opens LTA really needs to amend some services from Punggol, Pasir Ris or Sengkang to allow a good connection to the rest of SG. Trunk 84 already high chance move here. Bus 374 from Compassvale can actually move to Sengkang when one service moves to Buangkok, while 110 should move to Buangkok, not Punggol North.

There are certain sectors that are only plyed by 110 (eg. New sengkang village and sengkang hospital), which I doubt 374 will be amended to.

374 should be split up since it’s current route is rather long and convoluted, but I’m not sure how it should be modified. However it absolutely make sense to transfer over to sengkang int.

If the floor plan is 6 boarding berths and 3 alighting berths then confirmed it will replace Punggol Int.
