Shuttle 21: Serangoon—Punggol Shuttle Bus Service

Shuttle 21 is a Rail Replacement Service plying between Serangoon – Punggol, serving en-route North East Line (NEL) stations.

The route will be activated to operate on selected Fridays and Saturdays in April 2021, when shortened operating hours are implemented on the North East Line to accelerate the replacement of insulators of the overhead catenary system. The failure of an older design of insulators was blamed for two previous power faults that caused disruptions lasting several hours.

The Shuttle Bus Service will only operate on days of Early Closure of the NEL in April 2021, namely:

  • Friday 16 April 2021
  • Saturday 17 April 2021

    NEL operated by SBS Transit, right? Why does the route also operates SMRT?
