Route Amendments with the Reinstatement of Bencoolen Street

Bus Services 64, 65, 131, 139, 147, 166 & 857 have had their original routes through Bencoolen Street reinstated from Sunday, 11 December 2016.

The sector of Bencoolen Street, between Middle Road and Bras Basah Road, had been closed since 16 October 2011 to facilitate Downtown Line Stage 3 construction works. Bencoolen MRT Station was built underneath the closed road sector. The general traffic flow was diverted through Middle Road, Selegie Road and Prinsep Street during the construction period. Reverse flow lanes were created along Selegie Road and Prinsep Street, where traffic previously flowed in one direction.

With the completion of construction works, the sector of Bencoolen Street will be re-opened and the original bus stops will be reinstated.

Bus Service 972 will skip a bus stop along Bencoolen Street as well.

Abolished bus stops

From 11 December 2016,  the following bus stops will be abolished:

• Bus Stop 04189 Manulife Centre, Bras Basah Road
• Bus Stop 07509 SMU, Bencoolen Street

Reinstated bus stops

The following bus stops will be reinstated:

• Bus Stop 04029 After Prinsep Street, Bencoolen Street
• Bus Stop 04019 Manulife Centre, Bencoolen Street
