I’m predicting that this service might get shorten from Toa Payoh to Ang Mo Kio as part of CRL rationalisation in future
NEL Rationalization could have amend Service 88 to serve Punggol
Why isn’t there any single decker buses deployed on this service? Weird leh
The demand for 88 is very high, that’s why
If the demand is high, why not launch the 3-Door Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (or 3-Door MAN A95) on this service? This can enable faster alighting.
Single decker buses have been deployed on service 88 before. For example, a Mercedes-Benz Citaro performed an emergency pullover from service 28 as service 88 faced an extremely overwhelming demand at Toa Payoh Int all the way to Ang Mo Kio due to the breakdown of the North South Line (NSL).
And recently, SBS8809H, a Scania K230UB single-decker, was spotted on service 88 in Pasir Ris.
