11 Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) stations are expected to open in the second half of 2022, as announced by Transport Minister S Iswaran (9 Mar 2022) during the Committee of Supply debate.
The line will open on 13 November 2022.
On 17 August 2022, the Land Transport Authority handed over the stations to SMRT, marking the completion of all civil and structural works, as well as systems integration and testing activities. Operational testing will be carried out over the next few months in preparation of passenger service by the end of the year.
Originally announced to be open in the Year 2021, the opening of TEL Stage 3 was delayed due to material supplies and manpower disruption as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The third stage of the Thomson-East Coast Line comprises 13 stations, including 4 interchange stations. However, Marina South and Mount Pleasant stations will open at a later date in tandem with developments in the area.

Maybe TEL3 will open soon
when tel 3 opens, 167 and 162 demand will change and maybe they can amend or withdraw the routes
162 demand is lower than 167. 162 & 167 duplicate each other from upper thomson to orchard road & shenton way, not to mention 132 also connects upper thomson to orchard mrt. So in my opinion, I think it is best to amend 162. 167 duplicates 980 from sembawang to novena.
Hopefully opened around june to august
Same here
I think 167 and 960 got competition already with TEL3.
960’s demand will sort of change between Stevens and Woodlands ITH.
No it won’t, there will still be strong demand between dormitory workers along Woodlands Road and Little India.
Later LTA said you can always change to DTL at BP if you wanna go Little India.
MRT will sure win one
should be sept 2022 around there
