5 MRT Stations along the North South Line (NSL) between Woodlands and Ang Mo Kio were closed during the Vesak Day long Weekend on 18 – 20 May 2019 to facilitate the construction of a new 72-metre long crossover track north of Canberra MRT Station.
On Saturday 18 May 2019 to Monday 20 May 2019, Admiralty & Sembawang MRT Stations were closed to facilitate the removal of existing tracks and installation of the new crossover track. Yishun, Khatib & Yio Chu Kang MRT Stations were closed in addition on Monday 20 May 2019 to carry out testing and commissioning of the signalling software for the newly installed track sectors. Train services resumed their normal schedules on Tuesday, 21 May 2019.

On Monday 20 May 2019, train service between NS9 Woodlands and NS16 Ang Mo Kio were unavailable.
