On 6 November 2025, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) called a tender for Electric Vehicles Charging System for Electric Buses (Reference No. BD405) on the government procurement platform GeBIZ.
This is the second mass procurement for electric bus chargers to support LTA’s growing Electric Bus fleet.
Chargers & Locations
In response to inquiries from Lianhe Zaobao, LTA mentioned that these chargers would be liquid-cooled plug-in chargers, which are equipped with a charging station management system. This enables charging to be optimised based on an individual bus’ State of Charge (SoC), as well as a bus’ deployment schedule.
In addition, LTA also revealed that chargers under this tender will be installed at:
- Mandai Bus Depot
- Beauty World Integrated Transport Hub
- Kallang Integrated Transport Hub
- Tampines North Integrated Transport Hub
Previous Tenders
Previously, Contract BD401 – Electric Vehicles Charging System (EVCS) for Electric Buses was awarded in November 2023. This tender called for the installation of 360 kW CCS2 direct current (DC) chargers at Sengkang West, East Coast, and Gali Batu Bus Depots.
Back in October 2018, procurement contracts for electric bus chargers were awarded together with the electric buses (Contract PT323), in which plug-in chargers were installed at Bulim, Loyang, and Seletar Bus Depots, and pantograph chargers were installed at Bukit Panjang & Bedok Bus Interchanges.

Why don’t install at ULU PANDAN DEPOT ?
Because UPD is slated for demolishment in the near future. The land it is situated on isnt zone for transport.
The replacement depot is either Tuas or Tengah. Highly likely suspected is Tengah while Bulim gets Tuas.
Mandai is chosen because its fixed, the train depot is already there. Makes no sense for it to move like what others stated
