since 506 isn’t being tendered with the rest of the serangoon-eunos bcm, it shld be transferred to the bulim bcm and be under tower transit
Service 506 will most like transfer operations to Tower Transit under Bulim Bus Package.
Or it will transfer to Bishan-Toa Payoh Bus Package with operator changing under SBS Transit.
easiest way to make 506 higher demand: extend to punggol following 82 route and discontinuing 82. punggol can have direct link to bukit batok, toa payoh and jurong east. mrt less packed. situation will be solved.
maybe can extend to punggol coast interchange, there got a lot more space, plus can serve the surrounding developments there with direct link from the west and toa payoh. also could ease overcrowding from nel and ccl (maybe also dtl), assuming it goes pie, then takes kpe then enter punggol thru pasir ris ind dr 1, residents dont need to rely on ccl [tho idk how feasible it is during non peak since it is js a non stop route from potong pasir to punggol coast]
Agree with the general idea, but instead 506 should be completely independent from 82. From the stops made inside Toa Payoh, 506 should run PIE (Express) -> CTE (Express) -> TPE (Express) -> Jln Kayu -> Sengkang West Way -> Fernvale Road -> Fernvale Street -> Anchorvale Street -> Sengkang East Road -> Punggol Way -> Punggol Central -> Punggol Road -> New Punggol Road -> Punggol Way -> Sentul Walk
This would enable rapid travel between the west and north-east, and would justify the express fares as it would incorporate a VERY long express-sector in between Jln Kayu and Toa Payoh, with its Sengkang and Punggol sectors making it similar to city directs.
Under Clementi Package
506 shifted to clementi bus package?
Yes. If Tower Transit Singapore wins the Serangoon-Eunos Bus Package.
502 under JW, 506 should be under Bulim since it served BBT too… 993 should be under Bulim.. LTA just love SBST so much..
Yes, 993 should be under Bulim, but 506 would be much more troublesome under Bulim because Serangoon Int to Bulim Depot quite a distance. Bus captains would have to drive out of depot quite early. Maybe if somewhere in Northeast TTS wins then can consider 506 under Bulim but for now under Serangoon-Eunos and dual depot control with Ulu Pandan Depot.
993 go CCK straight swap with 190 better.
If TTS bag Serangoon-Eunos it would be better as both Kim Chuan and Bulim can dual control the svc but if LTA decide to give Clementi package then Bukit Batok and Sengkang West duties.
