Early Closure & Late Opening of Downtown Line (Jul–Sep 2026)

Early Closures & Late Openings (ECLO) along the entire Downtown Line (DTL), between Bukit Panjang and Expo, will take place across nine consecutive Fridays & Saturdays between 10 July 2026 and 5 September 2026.

Affected Dates Early Closure on Fridays:
• 10, 17, 24, 31 July 2026
• 7, 14, 21, 28 August 2026
• 4 September 2026
Late Opening on Saturdays:
• 11, 18, 25 July 2026
• 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 August 2026
• 5 September 2026
Period of closure On affected Early Closure days, train services will end at around 11:30 pm
On affected Late Opening days, train services will start at 8:30 am

Reason Systems integration testing across the entire Downtown Line in preparation for DTL Stage 3 Extension opening

Shuttle 41: MacPherson ↔ Expo
No Shuttle Buses offered during Early Closure on Fridays

According to SBS Transit and LTA, these train service adjustments are needed to conduct final systems integration tests for the DTL, including running trains across the entire line from Bukit Panjang to Xilin stations, and launching and withdrawing trains from the new East Coast Integrated Depot (ECID).

The Downtown Line Stage 3 Extension will see the DTL extended by two stations: DT36 Xilin and DT37TE31 Sungei Bedok. It is projected to open in 2H 2026.

  • End earlier at 11:30pm during the affected Fridays (Early Closure)
  • Start later at 8:30am during the affected Saturdays (Late Opening)

Shuttles 41, 42, & 43 will be provided on Late Opening days only (affected Saturdays). Fares for the Shuttle Bus Services are equivalent to the distance travelled by train.
