Service 28 is one of three bus services between Tampines and Toa Payoh, along with services 8 and 31. The route connects the residential areas of Toa Payoh, Bartley, MacPherson, Geylang Serai, Bedok and Tampines, while also serving industries around Paya Lebar and numerous MRT stations along the route.
By utilizing Bartley Road and Paya Lebar Road, Service 28 offers a fast connection between Toa Payoh Estate and Paya Lebar/Eunos. In addition, the sector between Bedok MRT and Tampines Interchange is well-commuted, serving many estates along the way with connections to both MRT stations. At the Tampines East side, this service compliments Feeder 293 between Tampines Int and Tampines Street 45.

28 is very crowded usually during school dismissal between 1.30pm to 6.30pm. frequency should be faster 6-10 mins and not 6-15 mins. This is to allow more demand to be cope(hope LTA can look into this)

Tampines to Toa Payoh takes one hour twenty minutes. Is this considered fast? I have also thought and concern the bus driver will be super tired after driving for such long hours
The driver for Bus Service 28 from Tampines to Toa Payoh would be so tired as Bus Service 28 needs to cover 23.3 km to get to Toa Payoh as compared to Service 31, Service 31 only needs to cover 23.0 km to get to Toa Payoh. Its much faster to get to Toa Payoh from Tampines Bus Interchange with Bus Service 31. Tampines to Toa Payoh is not considered fast but Bedok to Toa Payoh its considered fast as Bus Service 26 only travels 14.7 km to get to Toa Payoh from Bedok.
