3-Door Alexander Dennis Enviro500 buses launched on Service 969 & 969A

The Alexander Dennis Enviro500 3-Door bus has been launched recently on Tower Transit Bus Services 965, 969 & 969A in April 2022.

50 units of the Alexander Dennis Enviro500 (3 Door) double-deck bus, configured with three doors and two staircases for smoother boarding and alighting, has been procured by the Land Transport Authority in April 2019, alongside 50 3-door MAN A95 (Euro 6) buses.

All units completed registration in January 2022, with SBS Transit, Tower Transit & SMRT Buses operating 25, 20 & 5 buses respectively.

These buses are the first to feature a double glass-staircase design on both front and rear staircases, as visible on the right side of the bus.

Complementing the futuristic looks of the bus is a fully low-floor design on the lower-deck, making entering and exiting the bus very accessible.

These buses are the product of engineering efforts by Alexander Dennis Limited after the initial conception in 2016. The engine and drivetrain components had to be relocated to the right rear of the chassis in order for a full-low-floor design.

Registration of these buses began in September 2021, and these buses are currently with SBS Transit & SMRT Buses.

However, the bus broke down along Choa Chu Kang Drive towards Kampong Bahru Bus Terminal at about 1918hrs due to a fault with the middle door. The bus has since returned to service.

MAN A95 and Enviro 3-door buses are so wasted on service 4 and 37. I like to see them on other services instead. Service 168,14,21,7 (replace the single decker buses), 9, 81 and any other popular DD services)

Hopefully Go-Ahead can lease the last 5 units. They can transfer 5 units of 3-Door A95 to storage or SBST.
Tower Transit Mandai should transfer 5 units to Bulim and exchange with Bulim 3-Door A95.The last 10 units of Bulim SG B9TL can go to Mandai and 10 Euro6 B1 A95 can go to Bulim.

who say 88 don’t have (Cos 88 goes to East, have new buses)
25, also have, cos 25 goes to east too. 169 is TT, TT is fair on new buses deployment
166 don have new MAN buses, cos 166 goes to West

Yeah. If LTA can launch the 3-Door ADL on longer bus routes such as Tower Transit 858, it would be better. Services 37 and 854/e routes are not that long, so just save the 3-Door ADL on longer bus routes in the future!

Of all routes, why mention a route that goes into Changi Airport terminal basements?
