Service 167 is an inter-town trunk route connects housing estates around Sembawang, Yishun and Bukit Merah, and the suburban areas of Upper Thomson and Thomson, with connections to the City areas of Novena, Orchard Road, Padang and Shenton Way. Along with Service 980, it serves the full stretch of Upper Thomson Road and connects to the city, and compliments Service 196 between Bukit Merah and the Central Business District.
Demand for this route remains moderate to low throughout the day owing to the presence of duplicate routes and low-density developments along much of its route. However, peak hour demand is high especially between Sembawang and the City.

Yesterday (16 Oct) saw 167 almost all the single deck fleets were made up of OC500LEs, with only 2-3 A22s are spotted. As a result more A22s were seen on 171 and 855 side. Wonder if there’s a sudden change in fleet though.
Today 16 Sept at about 915 pm, 3 Indian gentleman boarded bus 167 ( Bus no SMB 1337H) at MacRitchie bus stop with one of them completely without mask on and the driver did not tell him to put on the mask. The bus was not crowded thus the driver can see that gentleman had no mask on . Upon my alighting at junction bus stop at junction with Yio Chu Kang road I showed photos of the guys without mask and one improperly on to the driver but he was nonchalant . So in frustration I took down the bus no. I have the photos of the said passenger and also a side profile of this driver. Hope management will look into this case. Reason is Sg is not fully out of pandemic thus the driver who should be observing every passenger boarding but obviously he just kept quiet .
