Early Closure, Late Opening of North South & East West Line (August & September 2018)

Shorter operating hours along the North South Line (NSL) between Bukit Gombak and Jurong East, as well as along the East West Line (EWL) between Dover and Pioneer will take place on selected days of August & September 2018 to facilitate additional engineering hours for track maintenance and renewal works along the affected sectors. This will involve early closures and late openings along the NSL and EWL.

These closures in August & September 2018 are on top of Late Opening of Bukit Panjang LRT on Sundays between July to October 2018.

Closed MRT Stations

As a result, train services on the North South Line between NS1EW24 Jurong East and NS4BP1 Choa Chu Kang, as well as on the East West Line between EW21CC22 Buona Vista and EW29 Joo Koon will be unavailable during the periods of closure. Train services remain unaffected along the remaining sections of the NSL (Choa Chu Kang—Marina South Pier) and EWL (Joo Koon—Tuas Link and Buona Vista—Pasir Ris).

A Shuttle Train Service will operate between EW21CC22 Buona Vista and EW19 Queenstown at around 12-minute intervals during the periods of closure.

Affected Hours & Dates

• On days of Early Closure:
  3, 4, 24, 25, 31 Aug 2018 &
  1, 7, 8, 21, 22, 28, 29 Sep 2018;
  last trains will depart at 11:00 pm on the affected stretch.
• On days of Late Opening:
  4, 5, 25, 26 Aug 2018 &
  1, 2, 8, 9, 22, 23, 29, 30 Sep 2018;
  first trains will depart at 8:00 am on the affected stretch.
• Train Service will operate as per normal during the following weekends in August & September 2018:
  10 – 12 Aug 2018, 17 – 19 Aug 2018 & 14 – 16 Sep 2018

Note:

• Train Services on the Changi Airport Branch Line (Tanah Merah – Changi Airport) will not be affected throughout.
• Train Service will operate as per normal during the following weekends in August & September 2018: 10 – 12 Aug 2018, 17 – 19 Aug 2018 & 14 – 16 Sep 2018
• * – The last south-bound train service on Fridays and Saturdays terminates at Marina Bay.
• ** – The last train departing Marina Bay to Marina South Pier is at 2356hrs.

Shuttle Bus Services

Shuttle Bus Services will be provided throughout the duration of the early closures and late openings. Fares for the Shuttle Bus Services are equivalent to the distance travelled by train.

Extended Bus Operating Hours

On days of Early Closure, the last buses for residential bus services will be extended to allow commuters to connect from the Shuttle Bus Services.

• Bukit Batok: 173A, 189A, 941, 945, 947 (1.30am)
• Choa Chu Kang: 300, 301, 302, 307, 308 (1:30am)
• Clementi: 282, 284, 285 (1:30am)
• Jurong East: 51A, 143M, 333, 334, 335 (1:30am)
